I enjoyed your observations of your Vegas trip. Congratulations for renewing your vows. I haven't considered that even though we were married there. Was that your idea? Did you surprise Mrs. Johnny with it there or was it planned out with her in advance?

I don't start to notice how dirty an airport is unless it smells funny. I have to focus on getting to baggage claim & rental car facility and not walking into people.

The part about the military baffles me. Military?

What I meant was that I'm no longer surprised by the personalization, sarcasm, meanness and scolding tone of some people who don't know me. I have a standing bet that negative posts will appear within a few hours. I meant only to post my random thoughts in a friendly way. Obviously, I got it horribly wrong.

    Military?

It was a mutual idea arising out of a discussion one day about how much we had enjoyed being married in Las Vegas, and going home and having a party instead of the traditional wedding at home with guests, etc. We did plan this in advance to get a few minutes of chapel time and an officiant, but we had no other fanfare at all. We said our vows, drank some champagne at Parasol Up and went to dinner at Lakeside. Could not have had a more perfect evening. What surprised us is that actually standing there and repeating the vows was very deeply affecting, maybe even more than the first time because we had the richness and joy of our years together to underline the words. Results may vary, but I've gotta recommend it if you'd pick the same true love all over again. We got lucky to find each other, and reminding ourselves was goodness through and through. Mrs. Johnny is still a great date!

Glad you enjoyed the thoughts. I meant no harm and was hoping someone might smile.

Thanks again, Ardee. I keep going back, and back again, to that picture and thinking, "Mmmmmmmm." Greatness! I was smiling again this morning.

You wrote about your experience and your thoughts based on your views and what you experienced while in Vegas which I personally found very informative. If others have issues with YOUR views and YOUR opinions, well really that's their problem....

That said, may you and the Mrs have many more Beautifully Blessed years together:)

    God Bless

Thank you for your write up! I haven’t spent much time at Wynn until my last trip, and your perspective plus perspective from others has made me lean towards maybe staying there my last couple of nights later this summer when I go.

Congrats on renewing your vows too!

    Hubster response:

    I totally agree with you on points 1, 2, 4, 5, 14, 15, 19, 21, 23, 25, 26, 30, 31, 33, 37 and 39.

Additional thoughts: The only place better than Vegas for feeling thin and well-dressed is a comic-book convention. Grimaldi's is great pizza. Wynn is still the best place in town for service and consistent excellence. I so want to just shoulder down and plow right through idjits who congregate at the top of escalators and those who stop their entire brood in the middle of the sidewalk to gawk at the decadence of Vegas. Your ideas for squirt guns and hotel check-in people is an inspired one. I would gladly pay to see that happen. Great report!

Loved the write up. We will be staying at Wynn for two nights in less than a week, for the first time. This info helps me a lot. I agree with everything you have written.

Thanks for posting, I really enjoyed although I should have skipped reading the comments. Lakeside is one of my top 2 faves in Vegas, if you're a sangria fan, theirs is the best white sangria I've had!

My husband, kids, and I happened to be in Vegas on our 20th so we decided to do the vow renewal with the kids participating....it was fantastic! Like you, I didn't expect it to be as emotional as it was, and it did me a world of good to see my husband tear up as he said his vows. It was a great family moment and by far the greatest vacation moment ever....so I understand how important the moment was. So glad you enjoyed.
    Thanks for sharing!

Mrs. Johnny and I hope you enjoy Wynn as much as we do and that you have a wonderful trip. Please and thank you are all you really need to know-they'll do the rest. Wynn is not always the best choice for everyone, but they try hard to be your favorite. We'd enjoy reading about your experience if you have the time when you get home. We enjoy our home, but we think days in Las Vegas are some of our best of the year. Sending you best Vegas wishes for luck and enjoyment!

Thanks for the story, Diane. We both teared up too. Tearful joy like this is not a usual response for me and I did not expect it either. We're sure your kids will also get great benefits from your excellent example. Yay!

Thanks so much. I will definitely try to do a TR. I just hope I don't feel too out of place at the Wynn. We usually stay at Planet Hollywood or Paris. It's been a year since we've been to Vegas and I am so excited for this trip.

I enjoyed the format and content of the trip report.
We are staying at the Wynn first time ever next trip.
    Any suggestions or recommendations?
Are the Encore amenities available for the Wynn guests?
What is it about the spa that made Encore so much better?
Do you prefer the Wynn or Encore pool?

Honestly, hubs and I went in with the same thought that we might feel out of place during our first stay as well. It was unfounded though, as everyone we interacted with was extremely nice, polite, and made us feel very welcome. You will have a great stay!

That is hilarious! A few decades ago, I worked for a prominent comic book store chain and would help run their booth at conventions. My co-worker in the booth was the spitting image of Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons!

You didn't get it wrong. Your post was friendly and thoughtful. Just because VMBers have differing opinions doesn't mean you've done something wrong.

I like these summary/observation reports; they are often very informative, and this one certainly was. Thanks for taking the time for such a nice report.:clap::clap:
