    My Trip Report

Doing a total low roller trip this weekend with the gf. We ran $100 through a machine at PH during our last trip to get some offers at CET. It ended up being about $600 coin-in and surprisingly, that snagged us two weekend nights at Cromwell for just $48 before resort fees and taxes (so TRIPLE it).

As I've mentioned before, we have standby flying benefits with Delta, so if space permits (I'm not looking to get "reaccommodated") we are on our way to Vegas tonight. The first gamble of the trip is going to be going through the hassle of airport security to maybe not get on the flight...

If it works, we'll see LOVE thanks to 2 free tickets on myvegas, the Mirage secret garden and dolphin habitat (thanks again myvegas) and then just enjoy a nice hotel.

For food, we'll be eating downtown thanks to a mix comps at The D and prizes on the Binions casino app. Also plan to use our LVA and ACG coupons at Ellis Island while enjoying a meal at the cafe. Wicked Spoon, the Flamingo food court, the Luxor buffet and Cafe Rio will may all make an appearance in this story!

Budget: $300 (which includes making $100 on some gambling promos) So...if you want a life styles of the rich and famous story, I'm not writing that one! lol

Me being me, I'm going to play more and blow the money made on the promos but that's where the fun comes in!

Wanted to get this written up beforehand so I can just do updates with photos along the way if/when I'm there. Wish me luck, I need a lot of it!

Mods feel free to delete or close:

Stick a fork in this trip report....

We were next up to get on the flight to Mecca but all the seats were full. Decided to make it a weekend trip to SF.

Will be doing all the touristy stuff...the gf is happy after 4 trips to Vegas last year lol

SF is currently foggy as it always seems to be. Here are pics from the rooftop of the building we’re staying in. You can see a little bit of the Golden Gate Bridge just above the rooftops in the first photo and Alcatraz in the second. I’ll call this good. I’ll be doing another standby flying trip to Cromwell next month but that time I’ll write up the intro to the trip on my phone and not post until it happens.

Sorry for the premature entry! Usually we make the flights. :/ Good luck to everyone currently out there!

Sorry you didn't make it to Vegas but SF is great. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

    Vegas soon!

Think of it this way. You saved a few bucks for the next trip to Vegas. Maybe you can be a middle roller on that next trip!

The trip resumes! We scored seats on a flight to Vegas tonight and are staying at Cromwell for the next two nights.

(Backstory: For those reading this saga for the first time, I fly standby with a major airline so I can snag an empty seat when available. I tried last month but ended up in San Francisco instead).

I’m low rolling hard still this time, and luckily, we didn’t even have to pay the $48 for the two nights from before.

Tonight we’ll either hit In n Out, Cafe Rio (both fast food faves we don’t have where we live) or Binions’ BBQ joint using food credit from their new social gaming app.

The aim here remains the same, $300 total trip cost, but like these trips, my gaming style is very Go with the flow, so who knows what we’ll end up doing.

All we’ve got booked right now is Binion’s Steakhouse tomorrow night. Using a $100 credit from the same gaming app.

Got our ACGs and LVAs in tow and can’t wait to just relax.

I understand that Cromwell guests can use other CET pools when the day club is going on. What would folks recommend between Flamingo, Caesars, Linq and Bally’s? I think we prefer a relaxed experience, so maybe Caesars but I hear Flamingo is a good time. Advice welcome!

Awesome - looking forward to following along.

I'm very jealous of your access to standby travel.

And Thank You!! for the heads up on the Binion's app - I can't believe I've never heard of it!

Landed! Consumed a burnt burger on the flight. Consumed is the most positive verb to describe that experience. But who cares, I’m here and just grabbed a Lyft line to the hotel!

    $10.50 ride

The level of skill and good luck required to do vegas on 300 dollars for the trip is impressive on its own. That’s the kind of trip where 1 lucky spin on a slot machine turns it into an epic trip. It cost me 600 plus just for air fare and that’s if I get a great deal. Have a great time post pictures of the good and the what the #*@. Ha ha

    Starting out with some WTF:

Checked in at Cromwell and someone's stuff was in our room. Or I guess I was in their room. Then we noticed we had two reservations for tonight and one was going to cost us $550. We sorted it all out at the desk and they were very apologetic. My first thought was to say, “If you’re in here, I'm not here to hurt you!” lol

Took it easy tonight. Got some burgers and retiring for an early evening. Played $1 through those VP machines near the entrance just so I could say I’ve played today.

    Down $1.

    Photos 1-2: the room
    Photo 3: the view!
    Photo 4: the bathroom
Photo 5: the coffee machine at the end of the hall...pro tip: only the odd numbered floors have these machines, so ask for that when you stay here
Photo 6: walked outside to take in the view
Photo 7: In N Out. Huge line but when very fast.
Photo 8: Something about seeing the LVB sign says, “you’re in the right place
