Even if he wasn't, I figure two and a half billion is sufficient enough for him to give his blessing anyways.

Shareholders of WYNN really seem to be taking it on the chin...

(In no way am I trying to justify his actions, just sayin’...)

Agreed, but what can they do really? They're not actually responsible for what he's done himself, it's just the money at this point. They're probably not happy, but radical reactions could affect the market and their holdings too. I'm no business expert by any means, but perhaps being conservative, quiet and cautious may be the safest course of action.

Aye, they're not. Which means the idea of Sheldon Adelson getting his hands on Wynn/Encore is especially troubling. Also, Sheldon Adelson can eat a cold dick sandwich.

I think the joke goes "My Girlfriend caught me blow drying my groin and she asked me what I was doing. I told her 'Heating up your dinner.'" So I'm guessing hot is the correct answer lol.

Love it! And since this is a Steve Wynn thread, I love the direction we are now taking it!

In that vein, My wife once caught me jerking off in the shower. She yelled "What the hell are you doing?!?!" I told her, it's my dick and I'll wash it as fast as I want!

    Oh wait I got one

What's the difference between Steve Wynn's favorite secretary and his second?

His second favorite says "Good Morning Mr. Wynn"
and his favorite is "It's morning, Mr. Wynn."

I'll steer this back to the topic and then see myself out. So evidently Wynn is still sitting around 184 a share, doesn't look like they're hurting much from this.

Wait, what? I read a different story this morning about the 2nd payment, but didn't see the extortion part of the story. Unfortunately, paywalls prevent me from reading WSJ. Does the article explain how it's extortion if she's not asking for extra money?

The article states it's probably not extortion, but they went to the FBI anyway. It's another tactic to harass someone who tried to stand up to Wynn. Lisa Bloom is the woman's attorney so this should get some more press.

I hope whatever happens the properties will remain top notch, at least for a while/a few years. I have three major trips this year to Encore (actually 4 counting the run up to NYE) and I'm going to enjoy the heck out of Encore and Wynn while the service is top notch and hopefully bring home some major winnings. :)

I feel like at this point the only thing that makes sense is for the current ownership group/shareholders to agree to a sale, settle all the lawsuits and re-brand the place, hopefully keeping the beleaguered, innocent current non-executive staff in place.

Shareholders could get out from under the current beating they're taking, and the resort itself could get out from under the name that's dragging it down. Honestly just doing a wipe and rebrand on those external and internal "Wynn-isms" and more or less leaving the rest of the resort alone is probably all it would take to get the stain of all this off of the place. After all, the physical resort and 98% of the employees there are blameless in all this.

I'm thinking Steve buys the Fontainebleau (SP). I know plans for it have been announced but he'll have 2 B+ when he finishes the sale of his shares that he began this week. A narcissist NEVER thinks their done. Maybe he get the gaming license in his mail order Eastern European bride's name. If Trump can be president, Wynn can get a gaming license. I'm usually not hostile but I have 3 daughters and a granddaughter. His actions were despicable.

PS - shareholders haven't really taken a beating. I think the share price is about the same as it was at the beginning of the year. And that is after the late 2017 meteoric rise. I should have bought it in the low 160's after the debacle but I was a pig, I thought it would go lower. It has since rebounded to 180ish.

Even if he could get a license, he'd have to have investors join him I assume in a new effort. My guess is until all of his legal issues are resolved -- which could be a long time with the shareholder suits alone -- I don't see a major co-investor putting up millions to start a new venture with him.

I talked to an exec at a gaming company with NV ops who has experience with licensing. I made a comment about him coming back with a new idea in Vegas in 3-4 years, and they made a pretty strong rebuttal that he will never get a license again in the state of Nevada.
