Wicked Spoon. Aria is not bad by any means, but Wicked Spoon is top tier.

We eat at both regularily. Both are very good, but we absolutely prefer Wicked Spoon. Aria is good, solid food, but nothing memorable for us. WS always has some dishes that have us thinking of them days later, going "that was delicious!"

But, we like semi-adventurous food...which is what Wicked Spoon shines on. If you like more traditional fare, and only traditional fare, Aria might be a better fit. (Though it has a decent international section!)

PS when I say "adventurous," with Wicked Spoon, I am not an intestines and weird cuts of meat adventurer...I'm talking roasted beet ravoli, angry mac and cheese, roasted bone marrow, truffle mashed potatoes....that type of adventurous :)

My vote is for Wicket Spoon. Aria is good, but a "standard" 2nd tier buffet. IMHO, Wicked Spoon is a "one of a kind" experience.

I've never had either of them, but I'll be doing Wicked Spoon in April and looking forward to it based on the reviews I've seen.

I agree with the comments of others - Wicked Spoon has more unusual food, but it doesn't typically have the Las Vegas standards such as peeled shrimp or crab legs. Wicked Spoon tends to serve food in small dishes or plates, where Aria has the more standard format, at least the last time I was there, which has probably been six months to a year. I think both rooms are fairly nice and I have had better service from the waitstaff at Aria. I do like that they leave a large bottle of water on the table at Wicked Spoon; I can't remember if they do that at Aria or not. I think both are good, I think it depends on what you are looking for: dishes you possibly haven't tried or the more tried and true Las Vegas buffet.

I like both. But Wicked Spoon is more "fun." Lots of unusual stuff there.

Yum, roasted beet ravioli was the best, and I'm not the biggest beet fan. The bone marrow looked good, but I couldn't bring myself to try it.

Agreed...we dined at the WS in December and my wife didn't like it. I thought is was ok, but way overrated....I know we are in a very small subset of the VMB members...may be the only one's in this subset. To each his own. :)

I'd say Wicked Spoon, the Aria buffet is kinda small. I prefer Mirage Cravings or really any buffet over it. Free beer and wine at Cravings <(0_0)< <(0_0)> >(0_0)>

I'm with you...we love Cravings or any of the Station Casinos, over Aria or WS. We like good food at good prices.

Thank you everyone for the helpful responses! We are currently at the Aria, trying it out. Two reasons ... the coin we flipped told us so, and also we decided we wanted to experience a good quality traditional Las Vegas buffet to get a proper baselune from :)

Let us know how it turned out, particularly what dishes you really liked! We thought Aria was good, but now six months later, I can't remember a single item I ate there. OTOH I can name 5 or 6 items on the WS buffet and can't wait to get back this trip (planning on Thurs night).

Well! Here is our take on Aria Buffet. The husband devoured almost 3-4 lbs of crab legs and a good deal of jumbo shrimp and felt that alone gave him his money's worth. He also tried other dishes, and enjoyed the cowboy steak and braised ribs, though wished that the ribs were fresher. He did not like the mac n cheese at all, nor the fried chicken.

For my part, I was ambivalent about the value I recieved. My tastes run to vegetables, poultry, and no bread/breading/pasta; so my choices were a touch limited in comparison to my husband. The root vegetable salads (2 kinds) were nice. Hummus varieties were nice, and I thought the rotisserie and tandoori chicken good. There was a duck confit salad that I found interesting but unsure about.

Desserts were a delight! The tiramisu, the gelato, the creme brulee, fruit tart, seasonal (CNY) cupcake, and omg the carrot cake ... all tasty and not over sweet at all.

Our server was excellent. Our drinks were always filled, she kept plates cleared, and was super personal. She even went out of her way to make sure my husband got the steak knife he requested. Really enjoyed the service.

The stations were kept very neat and tidy. This good since messy buffet stations really turn me off.

Overall not a bad experience. I certainly left feeling full ... almost over full. :)

Next time you go, grab a nice piece of artisan bread, scoop out the marrow, and spread it on like butter.

I had a bit of the nervous factor too before I tried it....but it's like butter, just with a Meaty flavor. SOOOOOOoooooo good, and no weird taste at all.

That's part of why I am addicted to Wicked Spoon!

(Just remember the bread...eating it plain would be about as fun as licking a stick of butter :vomit:)
