Live Trip Report 11/18-11/25 Downtown Grand, Flamingo, Mirage

Currently on the road, about 2 hours in.
Dropped off the dogs at the vet around nine and headed out.

The party at my friends house was lovely. Lots of yummy food.
Now we are back on the road. About three hours to go!!!

Thanks for taking us on the drive with you. Myself being born and raised and still living in Ohio this is an opportunity to see a part of the country and a drive I may never be able to experience. Thanks again.

Ah the excitement of getting close. I can almost feel it.

 

On the way in. Wish I took more pics but I had to use my gps on my phone.

 

All checked in to the Downtown Grand. Husband has run off to see the opening bands for GWAR. I got us some bomb calzones from pizza rock.

Video of the room is currently uploading. I will post that probably in the morning.
It was interesting though to see that they provided these for us here in the room.

Earplugs!
I'm guessing it gets noisy in this tower. It's currently almost ten and I hear nothing.
I will however, snag these for when I go to join my husband at the concert in a few minutes.

Glad to read you didn’t have a noise problem at Downtown Grand. I stopped staying there because the noise at all hours from the pool was too bothersome to me. Perhaps since Pool season is over you were spared.

I hope you enjoyed Gwar and that your transition from downtown to the strip is smooth.

 

So the GWAR show was hilarious. Gallons of fake blood showered everyone. I was more soaked in fake blood there than when I sat in the splatter zone at Evil Dead The Musical. It was awesome!
We had a blast and then settled in at the Grand. Bone tired, we didn't do a single bit of gambling. Just ate our calzones and hit the hay.
Morning came way too soon today and we checked out of the Grand around eleven.

The Grand was okay. It was a cute but quirky room. The curious thing was there was no temperature control. There was a weird vent thing in the wall, but no way to control it. It didn't turn out to be an issue for us, but it was annoying to me. I like to keep my hotel rooms cold and I didn't like not having the option.
We headed over to the dispensary after checking out. My husband has a medical card and had been there prior, but now that it is legal, I got to tag along and check out the goods. It was interesting.
From there we stopped at a Smiths to get more water and sodas and snacks and then headed over to the Flamingo.
From the top floor of their parking structure you can see the Bellagio fountains.


That was a plus.
We were able to check in early. The room that was ready wasn't in the spa tour like we usually get and in my opinion isn't as nice as we've had before for a go room, but given the option of waiting for a slightly nicer room and being able to check in early? I think we made the right choice.
I'll upload a video later today of the room, but here are a few pics.






I grabbed some sandwiches from the food court and we are now relaxing in our room.
We will get some gambling in later tonight but this is the only day we have to relax for the next few and I'm enjoying it.

 

Yeah, it was around 50 degrees last night and pretty windy. I don't think anybody was partying at the pool. [emoji38]
