Thanks @zigzagging for providing the singular best TR, live or otherwise, that I've ever read. The pics alone make it a top tier TR, but your detailed discussion of art, whiskey, wine, culinary wonders and other interesting topics made this TR a treat for all of us to read. I'm really happy that you didn't let that BS at the Golden Nugget ruin your trip. Thanks again for all the great work and I'll definitely be looking forward to your TRs in the future. As an aside, I hope that the VMBers that do not read LIVE TRs eventually make their way to this one, it would be a pity to miss it. VERY well done.:clap::clap::clap::clap:

Zigzagging- There are many uninformed and misinformed employees at the Wynn. Wynn not only allows photos of your slot machine wins, they are one of the three casinos in Vegas that allow video recording of your own slot machine play, the others being Aria and Cosmopolitan. I know this because there is a big community of YouTubers recording slot play. Many of them have "Wynn recording policy" emails or letters that they carry with them when they record at the Wynn due to the poor communication of the recording rules. (The Wynn changed their recording policy about a year ago.) Since then there have been several stories by these YouTubers of being accosted by security guards or slot attendants for recording. The most recent issue was this week. Wynn head of security, Tony and a Marketing Director, Michael who implemented the recording policy change ended up apologizing profusely. Marketing promised to train all of their employees on the policy. The important rule with casino recording is you must not record other gamblers or casino patrons. Edit: Forgot to mention that Wynn does not allow recording slots in their High Limit room, only main casino.

You have enlightened me in some zigzagging remarks that puzzled me, as I have a nice collection of photos I took of my jackpots at Wynn, some from when the resort was new. Yes, none of my photos are of High Limit machines.

Here is a hit I had at Encore years ago that I still remember fondly, especially since I see so many trip reports with four to a royal uncompleted :haha:.

The plans I had to take my last bottle of wine to a restaurant at Cosmo never happened. Instead, I play some video poker and once I hit a four of a kind I move over to roulette in the downstairs high-limit room. I end up betting so many completes that the crew has to use "Finale Complete" and "Pending." A request to use my "H.O.R.S.E." lammer in place of a "Complete" is politely declined. I have a couple nice hits but lose $45,000 before a gentlemen comes up the table and starts chatting with me. He is waiting on his host to get him free drinks. I ask him what he's doing tonight and he says has a table with bottle service at Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand. I have never been to a club in Vegas and with all the other firsts I did this trip I know it won't take much to get me at his table. I start putting bets out for him and once one hits he starts pressing with his new funds. The dealers are winning when we win, so it's fun for all. Of course I ended up losing everything I brought to the table, but fun nonetheless. Finally his friend arrives and I am not surprised to learn they met 30 minutes ago. I am quickly invited to the club with them and off to the limo stand we go. We stop off at a craps table at MGM when we first arrive and I bet $1,200 on the hard eight for me and $500 for the dealers. It takes a couple rolls for the pit boss to notice I am over the maximum on the hard 8 and when I ask for a consolation prize for the last couple rolls where I had more bet than I was allowed the pit boss just laughs at me. I also bet minimum on the pass so I can be the shooter. This isn't a first for me. I have played many games of craps at casinos. I go on a hot roll of about 15 rolls but not once do I get a hard 8 or the point (interesting this is also 8, so an easier one you would have imagined to come up in 15 rolls). The entrance to Hakkasan is close by, and on the walk to the club my new acquaintances find a group of young ladies who are hanging out by the entrance waiting to be ushered in. The guy who brought me here is able to let us skip the line, and as soon as we get inside he finds an "ambassador" dressed like an extra on the set of Game of Thrones. It should be no surprise an employee with a plastic sword comes up to me out of no where and asks if I was the one trying to get a table. You couldn't have asked for a better group of companions and better staff at the club, but the guy who brought me here obviously just used them to get in the door faster. I like his style. It's a win, win for us all. Except for me, when I am told the only table left available is one upstairs and comes with a $2,500 minimum bottle purchase. Sure, why not. We are taken up to the VIP area and I order the only feasible thing on the menu, a Don Julio 1942 magnum (1.5 liters, or two typical bottles of wine). A $1,000 tip up front ensures we experience quite the pantomime. The rest of the night gets blurry, but with only half of the bottle consumed and the group in our room expanding from 6 of us to 12, I am ready to get out of here. I have a flight in 6 hours at this point, and haven't packed my bags or figured out how my rental car is getting to the airport with all these intoxicants in my blood. Hertz says they can have it towed but can't drive it for me. I invite two of the guests in our room to come back to Cosmo with me and after saying goodbye we leave in a hurry. I tell the staff to let my new friend take over the room (they kept asking me if every single person was allowed in and whether we wanted this movable wall next to us open or closed), and off the three of us go to Cosmo. We get to my room at 4:45 AM and the rest is history. Let's just say they packed my bags for me, which was nice even though I missed my flight. Needless to say I missed my flight earlier this morning and am now on a 3 PM flight to Houston, TX. It's now 11 AM so that gives me a little over two hours to take care of some business downstairs at Cosmo.

I was informed by multiple employees (at least asked 10 employees) that it's a brand new policy because of the recent unfortunate shooting. With that being said, in Vegas everything has a price certain people are allowed to take more photos than others. The climate has changed after what happened earlier this month and Wynn and Encore are the most sensitive to this. If you (the general you) don't like it, leave.

We should really just change the title of this thread to "Epic adventures of Zigzagging: Volume 1"
That way future trip reports will simply be Volume 2, 3, etc. This is a TV series and Im a big fan!

Yes, me and others were puzzled by the Wynn no photos of jackpots policy, but it is explained now, many things have changed since early October, I am sure. I have not been to Las Vegas in years.

I liked it how you caught the mood of the Club with you pictures even though light conditions there were not favorable. Thanks again for the report, it was like a great and enjoyable movie. You are Lubitsch, Houston, Cukor and Tarantino all in one. I did not even miss Elizabeth Taylor or Marilyn Monroe, they also did not star in "The Treasure of The Sierra Madre". You get my vote for Oscars in best production design, best cinematography, best director and best picture. Loved the report, my greatest compliment is to say that it was just as much fun as being there or even more. Thanks again and best wishes.

The only thing this trip report was missing was bringing chicks back to your room. Sounds like that is no longer missing.
