Another Reason NOT to patronize the Wynn Resort Las Vegas

Anyone who has been a regular visitor to ANY casino for a number of years (whether it be Vegas or anywhere else for that matter) is fully aware of the policy that most casinos prohibit the taking of photos or videos. Do we all still do it occasionally? Yes, but with the caveat that we might get slapped on the hand for doing it. This was not "Vegas Low Roller's" first ever visit to a casino, where he didn't know better. First of all, the Director of Marketing at the resort is not capable of giving permission to take photos or video of slots - that would have to come from someone who actually manages the resort, not someone who doles out offers.

Vegas Low Roller's incredibly obnoxious and annoying carrying on at the slots is what probably attracted security anyway (if another p.o.'d guest didn't alert them first because I know I would have). It's one thing to have fun, but to be so loud and obnoxious is intruding on other people's enjoyment of their own vacation. I am having my own experience when I visit a casino, I don't need to be dragged into his, kicking and screaming.

Everyone who is a regular at casino is also fully aware that casinos are considered private property. They have the right to ask anyone, at any time and for any reason, to leave the property. They can also ban someone from their property (or properties) for any reason, real or imagined. I understand that this person has a considerable youtube following, but that doesn't give him the right to conduct himself like a complete jackass. Even Paris Hilton, a far bigger name than "Vegas Low Roller", was banned from all Wynn properties for life when she was caught with cocaine in her possession in 2010. If they can ban a celebrity who at the time was at the height of her international popularity. they can certainly ban someone who is just some rude schlub who thinks he is above following the rules.

I am glad they threw him out and I hope he is banned for life for being so arrogant.

 

I'd like to fund research on how we can retard - if not fully eliminate - the 'me too!' gene. This is but another example of why suddenly, everyone with a phone/camera considers themselves to be bona fide journalists. No. You put videos on YouTube. You get paid in likes. But most important...this is not your first venture into the casino. You know that photography is verboten. But...you insist. You're special. The rules don't apply to you.

Yep...nothing attracts attention quite so much as an acute case of idiocracy.

 

I usually like Vegaslowroller his slot video's , but this video is a shame and he is overreacting pretty bad, if this is called Assault then he is a big joke !

 

I stopped watching at the moment that the first guy politely asks him to leave (with no way to know he has 'permission')

And he says among other things "****ing idiot" and "learn to do your job".

Whatever happened to this guy, good.

 

VLR was in the wrong. Why not have the " permission letter " ready. The security guy may have been wrong but he is not going to trust VLR because he said he talked to some guy for permission. VLR elevated the situation himself. Then he asks if he was a regular tourist would it have happened. Simply no. They would have put their phone down and that would be that. Maybe he was having a losing night and there was extra pressure for the bigger bet bonus to pay off.

 

A rule of thumb amongst photographers is that you will NEVER win an argument against a cop (sworn or rental) and the only response to a request to put away the camera is to do so and move on.

 

The security guard should have recognized “Vegas Lowroller” and excused himself for being out of line. You have to give YouTube channel video posting slot machine players the respect that they deserve.

 

I do like the old VLR videos but ever since he got on the high limit bet bandwagon, I feel like he's not really true to his origins.

 

For what it's worth, when visiting or staying at Wynn/Encore, I've seen many
people with all types of devices...cameras, ipads/tablets and phones recording
throughout the casino.
Even groups of tourists with giant, elongated sefie-sticks bumping into everyone
as they go.

I like to take lots of photos too, because I enjoy the features on my
phone and tablet that can set the photos to a slideshow with music.
It's a nice memento to have and look back on.

I've been observed by staff while taking photos at slot machines as I like
to hold my phone up just until the bonus is over and want to get a good shot.
Of course, everyone's experience can vary and I guess that's my point.
Gonna still do what I want to do until told I can't.
Taking a chance is part of the fun... It's Vegas...and I don't see the need in
being an ass about it if I'm asked to stop. Life's too short, dammit.

 

Agreed. MinRaiser66 (VegasLowRoller)... you were rude and obnoxious with the first words you spoke to the security guard and you never waivered. You probably were wearing a shirt proudly proclaiming "The Customer Is Always Right!" You got what you deserved. There are so many better ways to handle the situation, but you chose to be a dick.

I stayed at the Wynn/Encore 10-12 times several years ago, but left because (as stated elsewhere in the thread) they don't comp drinks for bar-top VP players. I didn't call the bartender a f-ing idiot or moron for doing his job. I also found the place a tad stuffy for my tastes, but I wouldn't ever speak to security or any other employee of the property like that.

The guy was acting like a complete ass to the security guy so he brought it onto himself.

 

I assumed the OP was the same guy as in the video. I suppose MinRaiser66 could've just been posting LowRoller's video. If that's the case, I apologize for erroneously making that incorrect connection.

 

I have a dissenting view... it is the policy of the Wynn casino that they DO allow recording, along with Venetian, Cosmo, and Aria. He had an email on his phone from the director of marketing saying as such, and if you listen to him, he tells them he will get it for him as soon as the bonus is over. Where that security person, IMHO, over stepped its bounds was to unilaterally say that he was being thrown out even before a supervisor was on scene. Was he drunk? NO! Only once the SO told him he needed to leave did his language become profane.
Head of security came down and immediately dismissed the other security and apologized, as he knew they were wrong. VLR has told us that he did receive a call from management the next day and that they are retraining staff to let them know that the policy is.

 

You are allowed to film slots play at Wynn/Encore. Just no filming other guests for their privacy. BUT he should have been polite in return and none of this would have escalated. This behavior could cause Wynn to retract their permissions for other YouTube slot channels and that would be really unfair.

 

I've watched the video twice and didn't see that info either time? To be fair, I skipped a couple spots, cause I find VegasLower's sense of
entitlement so annoying.

Certainly, there will be varying takes on the incident and I respect yours', as well as MinRaiser's, but did I miss the above info or are you adding it in? Not that it would change my opinion of how this fella's conducted himself.

 

So after this event, if I play and/or stay at Wynncore, I'm not going to be subjected to petulant "YouTube famous" slotters now? Hmmm, might be worth giving Wynn another chance after all.

 

Lol had two choices.
1. Turn the camera off. Get the security guards name. Reply to the infamous email he mentions repeatedly and handle the situation that way.
2. Be an ass

He chose door number 2. Sorry but no sympathy here.

 

I was with him all the way until he started dropping F bombs at the security guard, thats just asking for trouble
I was enjoying the bonus and wodered how it panned out
