Ok so, don't judge me ....

This may be one of the most random threads in here, so sorry in advance!

I love cats, and whenever I go on holiday I try to go to a local Cat Cafe! I've been to a few now but can't seem to find anything like it in Vegas - which shocked me, as I thought Vegas had everything!

Do any of you experts know if there anywhere like a cat cafe in Vegas, or somewhere I can go pet them? lol.

(cant do animal shelters as I just want to take them all home and its heart breaking

Haha - I walked into that one I suppose :rolleyes2:

Not that I'm against them, but not exactly what I'm looking for - thanks though.

I know that there's a dog cafe in the Downtown Summerlin mall but I guess it wouldn't be practical to allow cats too. Never saw a cat cafe though. Maybe you could switch your allegiance from cats to dogs. LOL

I hope they open soon - that's exactly what I meant!

I can imagine it would do well in Vegas too - lots of people love cats, and theres obviously no competition!

I didn't even know there was any call for dog cafes! wow. I'm afraid I will forever be a crazy cat lady. Thanks for the info though!

A place to go and have a coffee or tea and there are cats (or dogs) and you can cuddle them and stroke them.

This has gotten popular in places like japan where houses are small and don't allow pets. Per Wikipedia in 2015, Tokyo had 58 cat cafes.

you pay a fee to visit and can play with the cats for an hour or so.

I live in a condo that doesn't allow pets so for me I go down to the humane society once and a while. Those dogs and cats are well trained and are ready (most times) for adoption. I visited the ASPCA shelter once and the dogs and cats aren't trained and actually some were vicious. Guess they don't have the volunteers like the humane society that can train the animals so they can be adopted.

I never thought about visiting the humane society or aspca when in vegas, maybe if I have time I might consider it next time.

I've seen some heavy petting in Vegas, but only involving humans.:ssst:
I'll have to try a dog, cat, or ant (@MikeH :D) cafe if I ever find one!

In the, US it violates the state and local health codes to bring animals like cats/dogs into a place where they serve food unless they are service animals. So you can't really operate much of a business that combines pets and food unless you completely separate the attractions.

It's just not a terribly viable business model here. Especially when the average pet store has shelter/rescue animals in there that you can go pet every weekend and it's really easy for the average person to live in a pet friendly home.

There are many cat and dog cafes in the U.S. that comply with health codes
according to each state's laws and provisions.:peace:
Many of them are located on the east and west coast.
Clark County, NV is working with rescue shelters to open some soon.

In Seattle there is a dog bar, Norm's......all dogs are welcome as long as they behave.

No idea what extra codes they are subject to for the food service part of it ,if any ? Fun place, we take our Golden in all the time, he loves all the attention.
    It's like a dog park with beer:beer:

I've heard of pet friendly eateries in places where the killjoy activists haven't gotten it outlawed, but I've never heard of a cat or dog cafe. That's pretty cool! I really wish people who didn't like these places just didn't go there rather than have them declared illegal.

I've got a very friendly cat named Walter, I'm in Mn and would be more than willing to sell time with him for straight cash.

Now that would be my kind of place!

I did also read a few months ago that someone set up a rat cafe where you could have a brew and they would bring out a rat for you to play with and cuddle. The main purpose of this was to raise money for a rat charity or something like that. I think they were charging $50 and you go to see a show for that and get 15 minutes cuddle time with a rat.

Edit - This is not in Vegas, it was some other US state.
