The flight stops in MDW (No plane change) costs MORE to get off in Chicago than if continuing on to Vegas. Albany to Vegas $189, Albany to Chicago $201 (Same flight)... LOL

This is why the web site skiplagged is so useful. Just a funny FYI.

    Hidden city fare!

Used to be far more common.

I gave up trying to figure out airline pricing years ago. I sleep much better at night now.

Yes, it is and it's a non-plane change, stay right in our seats.

I saw much worse a few months ago. MDW - LAS with a stop in STL was $72? And MDW-STL itself was $215.

Years ago, we could book a flight from Little Rock (130 miles from Memphis) with just about any ultimate destination for roughly half the price of starting the flight from Memphis. Irony here was, in most cases the flight left Little Rock and flew to Memphis with a change of planes to the final city. So, by driving less than two hours and parking your car at the Little Rock airport, you'd end up getting on the same plane in Memphis that would have been almost double the price. Then on the return, we had to reverse the scenario and go on to LR to bring the car back to Memphis. It was such a widely known "flaw" that a shuttle bus company was started that provided low cost trips from Memphis to the LR airport. They had several runs per day back and forth and were mostly booked up every day. Airline math!

The nice thing about a stop at MDW with Southwest is that if your plane craps out they have hourly flights to LAS all day every day!

with the no plane change, after a head count you can change seats. The look on the EB buyers face is priceless when they get on and there are already 35-40 on plane in prime seats

I get the pricing - supply and demand, market driven.

As to called a flight DIRECT vs NONSTOP - that drives me nuts. You may not have any nonstop options anyway... but calling a flight direct is just wrong when it stops along the way.
