No, I wasn't. Whoever it was didn't like me though. I just threw that name out there because I thought Ken would remember it. Forgot you were on this board as well.

With Aztarian it was more like Draino through the digestive tract.

When you roll your car over and your bestfriend's 2 year old daughter can't pronounce your real name, you get nicknamed Flip. And that's what they call me!

    Hi Ken!

Gino is my actual birth name. Not Eugene, not Gio, not Gene..."Gino" is actually a nickname for someone named "Luigi." So when I do meet people from the boot, or fellow Sicilians, they want to be proper and call me "Luigi." I then have to explain to them that Americans use nicknames as proper first names - which either begets laughter or a weird look, or an underhanded insult to my dad or Americans in general...:haha:

I often get asked why I have the nickname DJSPAM. Well, for one- I was a night club dj / radio mixer / mobile dj back in the day.... way back in the day. And when I was younger, I used to always eat SPAM musubi (spam, rice, and seaweed.) For those of you that haven't been to Hawaii, you can google it. But suffice to say its the equivalent of a go to snack or something to hold you over til your next meal... People also ask how we can eat so much spam (there is history as to why, you can also google that)... so for those of you not in the know, I wanted to share with you the many varieties of SPAM available to you... that you may have not know about. Also, we love our SPAM so much, there is a festival coming up totally dedicated to SPAM-I was invited to DJ this festival many years ago, but had to decline. Anyhow here is a picture of the many different varieties of SPAM available here in Hawaii... that you should try while you visit. Heck, even McDonalds offers SPAM and eggs for breakfast!

The varieties include: the regular version, lite, portugese sausage, bacon, teriyaki, black pepper, tocino, cheese, smoked, hot and spicy, turkey, chorizo, jalapeno, and less sodium.

FYI: the Aloha Specialties in the Cal make a pretty good spam musubi for a few bucks.

    Aloha, Dale

Oh my, Richard didn't have a witty post the same day. What is the internet coming to? You can't count on anything, any more.

Mine was a name given to me by a very special friend as i was going through some difficult times in life and it's just a bit of a unique version to the Phoenix story.

Interesting thread to go back and read. Lots of names on the earlier pages that I remember well from when I first joined. People like Coaster Kikky, Chef, DonD, Dougie that were regulars here. Hope they are all doing well.

As far as my name since we are on topic. I used to be a huge barenaked ladies fan thus the bnl through the ph in for reference to one of my other favorites Jimmy Buffett and the parrot heads.

I probably wont use it much anymore as I used it to set up a playstation account and girlfriends son took it over. I think he's made a few enemies online lol If i ever make a new one at a future page I guess I will go back to one of my old ones I used a lot Proudmonkey74 (reference to a Dave Matthews song)

Oddly enough I assumed it was Barenaked Ladies Fan with a twist on the spelling of fan. I guess bnl automatically translated to Barenaked Ladies as I’m Canadian lol
