I'll be hitting up Vegas for the first time in 6 years. It's also my first solo trip. Me and the ex wife use to go at least twice a year. So it's my first time without her and quite frankly it's feeling a little weird. I'm not sure how to describe it. I've relocated to florida since my divorce and really don't socialize at all. I don't have any friends here and pretty much keep to myself .Not looking for sympathy and Don't feel sorry for me I did this all to myself. I just feel the need to say How really odd it feels going to Vegas with out my Ex wife. I made a spur of the moment decision to book this trip and despite some trepidations about how I'm gonna feel, I'm planning my trip and hoping for the best .It's either gonna be the best thing I've done since moving or a disaster like Vegas itself It's a gamble. it As always I seem to want to do everything and go everywhere but as seasoned Vegas veteran I know that's not even remotely possible especially since I'm only there for 3 days 2 nights. So I'm already whittling down potential places I wanna hit. I'm staying at Bally's and I absolutely will hit up In-n-out on the strip as well as White castle ( haven't had one in years ) While I'm there I will play a little let it ride and drink some cheap /free beers at the Casino Royale. This almost cancels out the fact that the Victorian Room is no longer across the street. I'm still upset my absolutely favorite casino the Barbary Coast is but a memory. I'm planning on downtown both nights, also the Orleans, Palms, Gold Coast and Palace Station for some food and VP. Gonna hit Ellis Island for their steak/Prime rib special at least once. Also planning on hitting up a dispencary for Legal marijuana personally haven't smoked in years but I simply must Purchase and smoke legal Marijuana just to say I did. Just trying to maximize my time and I want to get reaquianted with my favorite place in the world. I have a feeling my itinerary will be changing daily as it gets closer. Oddly I must admit even just posting this and getting active again on a Vegas message board has kinda gotten me a bit more excited than when I started writing this. I believe that's a good sign. Sorry if this post was a little meandering but Thank you for being here. T

    Whoa! That's a serious schedule for 3 days/2 nights!

As to the legal weed, BE CAREFUL. The stuff they sell these days is heavy-duty and nothing like days of yore (meaning ten years ago, not even talking about the 80s!!!) and I NEVER got stuff like this out on the East coast.... well, once in a super great while, we'd get a good score coming up from Miami of some exotic but seriously, the weed at the dispensaries is powerful.

Vegas solo is fun - I've done it for a few days here and there. It's really nice to not have anyone to say, "Oh, I'm not hungry yet," or "I don't feel like going over to Cosmo. Let's stay here," or "Jesus. Are you still playing blackjack?"

Also, you know there's a roll call section here on VMB for possible meetups if you want to have a buddy for a minute or two.....

    Keep us posted!

A solo trip might be just what you need - so much to do in so little time! Looking at your 'to do' list for three days, I don't think you'll have time to be bored or reflect too much on the past. If you're like most of us, from the minute we step foot in Vegas, even the best laid plans go out the window! Plenty of new stuff to see and do in Vegas too - hope you have a blast @Tonyfromjersey !
FYI the days of free parking on the strip are pretty much gone - if it matters, check out the parking fees thread in the 'getting there and getting around' section.

I have wonderful Vegas trips with my lovely wife and also with my adult sons, but going solo is a whole different enjoyable experience - I can almost guarantee you'll have a great time being footloose and fancy free for a few days!

p.s. Lily is absolutely spot-on about the potency of today's reefer - a little dab will do ya.....

A solo trip to Vegas is like a tonic for the psyche. Have no expectation and go with the flow.

Tony....being away for 6 yrs will give you so much to discover! Solo trips are wonderful in my opinion....can make your own schedule. Also being alone, you get to decide how much you wish to socialize.....you may meet nice friendly folks while gambling to have a drink or meal with - but if you choose to be alone...that is ok too. Hope you have a wonderful time!
