I play almost the exact same you do. Quarter DDB VP 3-5 hours a day, some LIR, PG and Roulette. Table games are almost always min. levels. Every once in a while thrown a $20 in a slot machine. My offers are usually low to mid tier CET properties comp during the week with low rates on most weekends. Off peak seasons I can get comps on mostly all casinos even on the weekends. I wonder why you are not getting anything? My bankroll is a lot less than $500 a day, and no one else plays on my card.

I acknowledge this is a totally amateur question, but I want to make sure:

Table games excluded, it doesn't matter which property I'm playing at, right? I stay at Flamingo, but play at Cromwell. I stay at Excal, but play at MGM/Aria. Coin-in is coin-in, right?

My play is similar to yours though I don't play quite as much VP - more towards slots.

I rarely, if ever, get mailers from CET but if I log in to the site using my TR # and go to book a room, I find COMP all over the calendar. I haven't played at CET property in more than a year now but just scored a comped room at CP next month in the Palace tower by going on the TR site and booking a room.

I had ZERO luck with MLife and don't even bother to go to any of their properties.

As to Boyd, I'm getting VP tournament invites with free rooms with them. I just changed my "home" Boyd casino from Fremont to MSS last trip in December but I've got free room offers at all their Vegas properties. I'm perfectly happy downtown as it's easier to switch casinos if you're having a bad run one day.

I've found that to be the case with CET when I book a room through their calendar on the website. I don't know about MLife.

For CET primarily yes, for MLife, not entirely. If you no play Excalibur, that helps explain no free room there.

Also when you play at Cromwell, you're not playing the $50/point full pay machine right? The theo on that will be tiny.

Also @Mitkraft makes a good point. Taking more than a year off between properties will also help offers dry up, but you still might get comp nights on the CET calendar when you log in.

    CET, 100% correct.

BTW, the Cromwell machines that don't suck give way fewer points, which could be the reason you arent getting CET offers.

MLIFE have corporate generic offers and property specific ones. I think the total coin in is all that matters for corporate (not 100%), but each property you play at will do (potentially better) offers for you individually, so it makes sense to concentrate your play in a given day at one mlife hotel.

I only went to Cromwell one time last trip... Come to think of it, yeah, I did mostly play that FP bank of machines on my last trip. I mostly remember an epic BJ run while I was there (it was the wee hours) but I didn't even show my card at the table. I would've only gotten a few points for the maybe 500 I ran through that tightass machine. Ugh.

Side note: Cromwell is probably my favorite strip casino, just for the old-timer atmosphere alone, yet I seem to always lose my shirt there, even on the full-pay VP.

I need to just bite the bullet and make the walk over to Ellis Island...

being from Canada i get very few offers by mail , but when i go into the on line Total rewards site i have more than 50 offers in there , for rooms , meals, shows and free play . It is the best way to see whats available and as mentioned in another post the rate calendar always has comped nights

I should be clearer... I do indeed check every outlet for total rewards deals (mail and online) and I never see s#!t.

The problem could be that he plays the tables more often with his bankroll. I mostly play craps, have a bankroll of $300 - $400 a day but because it is at the tables I get squat. (I bet mostly red chips so don't many comps and never comped rooms even at the Cal or MSS). Yes, if you put in that much per day at VP and the machines you should probably get some comps but not if you are on the tables most of the time.

As for the tightening of comps, the bean counters have more programs and things to check on players and how they play. Unlike before a lot of this is all down to a science. Previously they would give out comps easily but now that they can see their bottom line they can look at their programs to determine "exactly" how much to give out in comps so they aren't as generous in giving out comps as before.

I checked the CVB website and it says that two 15000+ conferences are in town that week, so I'm guessing that's the cause. Nonetheless... eesh.

This is part of the problem. VP has a higher threshold than most other casino games for triggering comps With CET, felt pretty confident I could ask about offers drying up and either having offers restart or at least an honest response on why I shouldn't expect them. I don't know if that's the same for MGM. You won't know if you don't ask them. There could be a legitimate issue that could be fixed. And if they say you're offers are correct, find some new places to play.

Yes, it does matter with MGM. If you are staying at Excal but playing at MGM, Excal doesn't register that play. Sounds like Excal sees you as not playing or minimally playing where MGM and Aria sees you are not a big enough player to trigger comps. CET will roll up all your play and then steer you where they think you believe where you belong. For MGM, you need to focus your play on on hotel to get the best offers.

A convention booked all rooms at PH. Only rooms left are high end suites hence the rate

Last resort - have you tried calling direct to make a reservation and seeing if they can help?

I see you've got a Cal trip booked?? - Boyd has been good to me after my one time paying for a room at Fremont and now I always have a comped room available at all their downtown properties. If you can tolerate downtown, then I'd say skip the strip and go with Boyd. They have Fremont, Cal, Main Street Station downtown, plus like seven or eight outlier properties in LV, and the IP in Biloxi (which when I was there about five years ago was a really lovely property and NOTHING like the IP in LV....) and a few more....

no no no u'r doing it all wrong. I 've never booked a cheaper rate with a promo with CET. Delete all promo codes. Just log in and go to rate calendar. If u'r wife has a card add it to companion card in the upper right hand. Even if there's no play on it. If not get her one. and see if u get better rates. NO CODES
