So I was wondering ... we all know circus circus owns by MGM but why circus doesn't allowed/accept mlife express comps as form of payment? I don't understand it... looks like they have their own players card program as well? Does anyone know about it?
You pretty much answered your own question. They're the red-headed step child of the MGM portfolio and have their own players club. I'm not sure if they were ever part of mlife. Thus, you are unable to use anything related to mlife
It's like when Harrahs didn't integrate Bill's gambling hall...it's the embarrassing secret of their family and they don't want it in the same sentence as their golden children.
They weren't. MGM acquired CC as part of its Mandalay Group purchase over a decade ago. Before that acquisition, CC was part of the players club program with Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Excalibur. I recall the card being yellow, but can't remember what the program was called.
It was called "The One Club" and included Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, Circus Circus, Colorado Belle and Edgewater. I just happen to have the old card handy.
Its like what's happening downtown. MGM wants to keep that old license active so they didn't bring CC into MLife. There are regs that the older casinos are grandfathered in on that makes keeping an old license alice worth it.
If you are talking about Gaming License, that has nothing to do with a players club card. It only matters that a casino allow for gaming, once, every 2 years in order to keep an unrestricted gaming license. Circus Circus meets that, they have had continuous gaming for 50 years. But changing the name of your club card, or rewards program, has nothing to do with anything. Yes it is the Redheaded Step child thing, I'm sure MGM doesn't want the grubby players at CC earning express comps and then using that for a free meal at Bellagio. But the fact of the matter is, MGM only got CC with the Mandalay Bay buy out. It never fit their portfolio. They have considered selling it for years, they also got the CC in Reno as well. But they did find a buyer for that one, the Eldorado Group. With MGM inclined to sell CC, they wouldnt want the new property holder to gain their database. This is what happened when Phil Ruffin bought all of Treasure Island. That sale includes the data of what players, and what value they hold, to the new owner. If anyone has a ti players club card, chances are your club number is the same as your Mlife one to this day. I think they just added 00 in front of your original Mlife card number. So with any sale of CC the new owner will only get a list of players from CC. Which I'm sure MGM would be fine with. So they don't get to be part of Mlife for that reason. MGM is not looking to just dump CC, after all it is the only casino on the strip that is without a mortgage. But since they are listening to potential buyers, their club will remain on its own.
