So, after going to local MGM last night and doing quick hit & run :) my wife and I went to go see The House; movie about desperate parents opening a illegal casino to make money. And I tell you what, yes it did receive bad ratings and it doesn't have a much story... but it sure was funny as hell. Especially if you enjoy Vegas, gaming and Vegas hotel amenities I'm sure you will get the movie and find this movie funny as hell.
I don't want to give it away anything.... but you gotta been to Vegas and have seen movie Casino to understand some of this movie scene. Anyhow, I give my thumbs up for this movie lol. I hope you guys enjoy this movie much as I did.

Rottentomatoes score of 15%/46% for critics/audience... feels like a Redbox movie

    I'd like to see it.

Just sat down at the movie theatre to watch the movie. So excited, despite the poor "normal" critic reviews.

It's Canada's national holiday, and I am literally the only one in the theatre. Spooky

The movie was good. Not great, but good. While there were a lot of technical elements that a gaming math nerd like me could appreciate, I feel like it could appeal to Vegas-ers, and the layperson alike. The storyline was a bit on the simple side. I feel like a number of the plot twists were super generic, and the "trying to be cool and failing at it, and making humour out of the awkwardness" humour was way overdone. I did get a bellowing out-loud laugh during one scene (hint about the scene: "that's vodka!", "that's vodka too!"). I certainly don't feel like it was wasted time to see the movie, but I do feel a bit overwhelmed by it, even as a big Will Ferrell fan.

It's rare that I see two movies in the same week... but I saw Rough Night on Tuesday and would 100% recommend it by comparison.

Saw it too. It's by no means a great movie but I enjoyed it quite a bit and can see myself watching it on the next plane ride out to our favorite city. There were a few really great references to Ace Rothstein in Casino and also one excellent scene shot at the Wynn early in the film. Vegas geeks will most certainly be entertained even if they don't love it.

Just got back from the theatre. Good movie, not great. I laughed several times during the movie. I love the shots of the Wynn at the beginning. Any Vegas lover should see the movie just for the casino vibe and references to the film casino.

Saw it this morning. It was better than I was expecting. Not a great movie but entertaining. I enjoyed it.
