Has anyone attended the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire taping at Bally's? It is run by http://www.on-camera-audiences.com and the tickets are free. You are in the audience with a chance to go up on stage. If you have experienced it; is it worth the time? How was the experience?

I reserved tickets for our first afternoon in town, so I may go.

    Thanks.

Got a voucher for 4 on July 5th since will already be staying at Bally's. Looks like you have to commit to 3-4 hours as they tape more than 1 show a sitting. No children under 18. Dates are July 5- Aug 4

    I would think not.
just as long as you are 18 and dress correctly. Why would you have to be American?

They don't get the contestants from the audience so no worry if you meet eligibility requirements (to win money).

Everyone who attends a taping will have the opportunity to take the test and audition for a shot at playing for the $1 million prize this season! Also, we will be giving away great swag and deals to Vegas’s top attractions at every show... you could win just by sitting in the audience!

. After I posted, I realized that there is the chance for an audience member to become a "thousandaire".

    I did it last year.
It was OK. more than 4 hours.
But I would not do it again.

Are there any breaks, or is it four hours chained to your seat?

no breaks. And you need to clap your hands like crazy all the time even if you really hate it.

    Thanks.

That makes it sound more like a good thing to skip.

My wife and I went last year. It was every bit of four hours long. There are no breaks and I agree that the clapping was very annoying by hour four. There was a dress code and it was not much fun walking to Bally's in 100 degree heat with my dress pants and collared shirt on.

That being said- it was pretty neat to see how a show is made.
At the beginning, you can choose to take a test to get the chance to perhaps be a contestant. This is only open to American residents, as Canadians we were not eligible.
Last year was actually in the Bally's Theater, this year I believe it is in a separate facility behind it.
I wouldn't do it again only because it took too much of an already short trip.

My bride and I had passes to attend on our trip last year, but we didn't for two reasons:

    1) My bride was quite uncomfortable after falling on The Strip. :(
    2) The Showcase Mall ROSS store didn't have any cute capris for me to wear to the taping.

Yeah, then it would've been a chore to find some sensible pumps in my size 14... :faint:

The thousand dollar thing is when they pull an audience member to answer a single question. It's used to fill out some episodes. The test given before the show is the contestant audition test. I assume it's the same as their road auditions (scantron, 30 multiple choice questions, 10 minutes). I've done it several times. Pass it and you'll fill out an app and speak to a producer. A week or two later you find out if you made the contestant pool.

I do feel sad for those who miss the very first very obvious question. 'Which is not a common pasta? A. Spaghetti B. Macaroni C. Buttafuoco D. Linguini."
