I'll be in LV for a week during the World Series of Poker in a few weeks. I keep going back and forth on where I want to stay. I know there are some serious Vegas strip hotel experts here and would like your opinions on what I should do.

First off, just because WSOP is at Rio, doesn't mean I need to be there or near there. I would prefer to stay on the strip. I'll actually be playing in multiple poker tournaments at multiple properties, including Rio, Wynn, Venetian, Aria, Planet Hollywood, and Bellagio.

Here are my requirements in order:
    1. The place has to be really quiet. The rest I get each night is really, really important. In the past I've stayed in a few strip hotels where I had a small window of "quiet" from about 4am-8am - that won't do on this trip.
    2. Needs to have a comfortable bed. Nuff said.
    3. If the place has a casino, it needs to have a great poker room I can play some cash/ring game in when I am not in a tournament.
    4. I will probably get a spa treatment or two during my stay just to unwind, loosen up, relax, and focus. So a nice spa would be preferred. I want the spa I visit to be in the property where I am staying.
    5. A relaxing pool (and hopefully not overly crowded so it's not just about a fight for chairs and shade) would be nice.

A couple other points worth sharing:
    1. Price is not a concern. I have listed my options below, along with their prices for me, and you'll see a wide range there.
    2. For the Total Rewards properties, I am diamond level, if that helps influence the opinion at all.
    3. I'll be going by myself, so no need to go 'over the top' with a super luxurious hotel, unless it's the best match for my criteria. Not scared of the spend, for the right property, but no need to go crazy if I don't need to.
    4. Based on 1 and 3 above, I don't really care if the room is modern / remodeled / etc. As long as it's the best match to my requirements above.

Here are the properties I am considering, and the price to me, including all taxes/fees, based on any loyalty programs I am in. This is for 6 nights, from 6/9 - 6/15:
    1. Mandarin Oriental (Strip View Room) - $1530
    2. Venetian (Luxury Suite King) - $1421
    3. Wynn (Deluxe Resort King) - $1354
    4. Vdara (Studio Suite) - $1112 (connected/close to Bellagio and Aria)
    5. Bellagio (Resort King Room) - $908
    6. Aria (Deluxe King Room) - $802
    7. Caesars Palace (Forum Classic Room - I will probably be able to talk myself up to an Augustus Strip View room here though) - $676

Out of the above, I have stayed at all except the MO. That shouldn't really influence the opinions though.

    Thank you!

I know its not on the list but based on #1 and #2 being priority I would consider Vdara....quiet, comfortable and connected to Bellagio/easy walk to Aria

Just going off reputation Mandarin Oriental should be able to get everything on your list except the casino/poker room, though it's close enough to Aria, Bellagio, and PHo to get your poker on.

As said above, Vdara may be a good (and cheaper) option as well.

Thought about it, maybe need to reconsider it, good reasoning. Just pulled my MLife and checked it out, looks like $1,112 for the 'Studio Suite' for that week.

Personally (and this is solely my opinion) I would stay at the V (and in fact I am staying there for my trip down next month). The poker room is probably the best on the strip and the Deepstacks tournament provides lots of poker action. The rooms are definitely comfortable and quiet. It's an easy walk to the Wynn and the Bellagio is not too far by foot. I find the Grand Lux a great place to get a good breakfast to start the day (their buffet is quite reasonable) and there are lots of great restaurants in the complex (I find Public House is a great place to unwind and have a terrific meal if I'm flying solo).

Just remember that if you're going to be in Vegas over Father's Day weekend that's EDC weekend. Anyplace you stay will probably be subject to a little extra noise and partying (but you'll also see some pretty interesting characters).

I find most hotels are quiet.

UNLESS your room faces some thump thump nightclub.

So, that opens up lots of places.

MO seems to be an overreach.... and you have to leave the property to go play poker.

I would like your favorite poker rooms, and then work through that list to pick a place.

I'd stay at the Wynn, so you have 2 super tournament options within walking distance, and you're in what is the best hotel, in my experience.

I am coming around on this point, knocked it and Vdara off my list, going to be between the 4 I listed for my fav poker rooms, then looking at how they stack up against my criteria.

Leaning towards Bellagio or Venetian, only because I have stayed at Wynn my last two trips, and Aria my previous two before that. And it's probably been 12 years+ since I stayed at Venetian.

    Bellagio vs. Venetian...

As for getting a room with little noise distractions, there's a few things you can do in any hotel to lower the chances you'll run into this. First, I'd specifically ask for a low floor so there's a higher chance there's fewer people on the floor. Next, and more importantly, I'd ask for a room as far of a walk as possible from the elevator. This way you're avoiding the drunk people stumbling off the elevators and there's fewer people making their way to your end of the floor. Basically, you're asking for the most undesirable room location in the hotel. Of course it'll mean longer walks for you and a shitty view, but absent asking for a major room upgrade to some high floor corner room, this is your best bet.

I'd go for Aria or Bellagio strictly because the others aren't worth paying nearly double based on what you're looking for and both have excellent poker rooms. Proximity to the Rio for WSOP events helps too.

If you do choose the Venetian, ask for the Venezia tower. It's a pain getting to and from it, but far fewer people stay there and it's much quieter.

You should go with the Venetian, since it fits all conditions. If not for your quietness condition, I would go with the Wynn.

MO and Vdara are your best bet for quiet because of the overall clientele. All the rest are a total crapshoot for noise, it all depends on who your neighbors are. The only way to improve your odds on that is to book a room type (like a Salone Suite at Bellagio) you know is at the end of the hall so you know you only have one neighbor and the least possible amount of traffic past your door. Else ask to be as far away from the elevators as possible.

If Venetian ends up being near the top of your final list, consider Palazzo too, it's slightly more chill. The large size of the basic rooms at V/P helps a little with noise too.

Edit: Read your final 2 are Bellagio and Venetian. I'd go with V/P if it's not priced way higher than Bellagio, because of the room size. Also agree with @slurpees the Venezia Tower is an option because they use it for overflow so it's likely to be less crowded.

Can't really go wrong with either V/P or Bellagio. V/P probably better overall location, but I think pool would be more "relaxing" at the B. Also, Bellagio is closer to the Rio if you're considering walking there.

I wouldn't even walk "next door" during the heat of June/July in LV... where I come from, 70 degrees is warm enough for shorts... 120 degrees and I don't mix well :)

Think I am booking Venetian at this point... all signs point there.

The Venetian has a 140k bad beat jackpot and runs special deals on suites for poker players if logging 6 hours a day play...check website for details

I did compare the poker rate vs the promo rate I got, promo rate is better (although once booked it is not cancellable or refundable). I am booked now though, and stoked!

Fair enough. I stayed at the Mirage for last year's WSOP an walked there before the start of each day's play. Was about the only exercise I got the whole time (much needed in my opinion.) I'll likely be doing the same this year.

Venetian will be great. Good luck at the WSOP.

The quietest hotel can change in an instant depending who's next to/above/below you.
