I've had a card with Boyd for awhile now, but I never really gave their club much thought or effort. Lately I have been going to their casino in Indiana which is not that far from me.

So far I have visited them 3 times. My card score is 66,537 but I'm now showing up as Sapphire? Do they have bonus tier credits like Total Rewards?

Since my 1st visit was the very end of February, do I really only keep this Sapphire status for 5 months? It shows it expires on July 31st, almost 5 months to the day from my 1st visit.

I checked online to see what Sapphire gets me, but it doesn't look like much. It says I get a gift, any idea what that might be?

    Any help would be great!

Also, it looks like it is 50 cents = 1 point. So can I assume if I divide the below in half it would be my coin-in? I have seen mailers with bonus point days, but they are during the week so i have never been able to use them Do they double your slot dollar points ( reward points) or do they double your tier credits? If it is tier credits, I would have been able to earn Emerald on 4 trips if I kept my average the same.

In Vegas if you are local, it's 6 months. If you are a tourist to Vegas, it is one year. Sorry on the other part, I've never gambled at a Boyd casino outside of Vegas.

thanks Joe and ty. ty, I think this is the 1st time I gambled at any Boyd property in over a year.

maybe I had a drop in day that I earned 40,000 points and I just don't remember.

my slot points are only like 1200 since I convert those into free play before I leave.

I appreciate all the help, if the gift is just a few nights in Vegas I'd probably just pass on it.

in my account online it shows good offer for the local casino I put my play in. but only discounts in Vegas.

I had hoped they worked like cet and mgm and my play would draw offers from other properties.

in Vegas you earn sapphire at 25,000 points. it must be different at Blue Chip, your chart shows 100,000 points. i think when you are sapphire you earn 2x points if it is not a point multiplier day. some of these players clubs are hard to figure out.

Boyds has different points at different local outside of Vegas. As said by Dev. Sapphire is 25,000 points. In Vegas $1 is 1 point. Slot points can use multipliers. Tier do not. So basically in Vegas it takes $25,000 coin in for sapphire. Slot points can used for free play and food. Food is the best use as it is 40% off using points. I currently have 120,000 slot points worth about $200 worth of food discounts. 60,000 = $100. More slot points are earned by being sapphire 2x and emerald 3x. Best way to get more points (not tier) is playing slots on multiplier days like YAH Wednesdays, but there are usually some multiplier days spread out through the month. As has been said, in Vegas you have a year to keep tier points, if you are not local

The "gift" for earning sapphire used to be 3 free anytime nights in Vegas. This was eliminated after March 1, 2017.

If they aren't going to give you a gift, they need to take that off the benefits.

Your "Card Score" is basically what CET calls your "Tier Credits"

Your "Slot Points" are basically what CET calls your "Reward Credits"

I hope that helps a bit?

Being Sapphire means that everyday you will get 2x slot points. Emerald would be 3x slot points. Unless there is a multiplier day - then you get that.

    Hey Grid!
I'm a Hoosier and Boyd player at Blue Chip and in Las Vegas. I also play at the CET Horseshoe casinos in Indiana (both north and south..mostly Louisville market). From what I can tell, your play at Blue Chip gets you nothing in the way of Vegas comps (other than tier benefits you may have earned). CET works much differently: Many riverboat players can score comps in Vegas (and other markets) based on a strong ADT from riverboat play.

I can also tell you that Blue Chip has a much higher share of strong players (Chicago money) than Boyd/Las Vegas. I usually play $50 a hand blackjack for many hours a trip and that's not good enough for free rooms on the weekends at Blue Chip. Play $50 a hand at Gold Coast for eight hours a day, and they'll treat you like you own the joint!

Yeah, boyd is very different outside of Vegas. It's quite confusing.

At Blue Chip part of the reason Sapphire is 100,000 points is because it's much easier to earn a point. And I have no clue why Grid is sapphire below 100k points unless he initially signed up in Vegas? But shouldn't the computer reflect that saying sapphire was only 25k.

At Blue chip, a point in slots is only 25c/50c for slots/VP, last noticed anyway they don't have countdowns, it may have changed. Food is worth double vs. slotplay. Also sapphire and emerald only get 25%/50% slot point bonuses instead of 2X/3X in Vegas.

Sam's Town Tunica has the same rules as Blue Chip except point earning. That's 30c/60c a point for slots/VP.

I used to be Diamond with CET before jumping ship and going MGM. While I appreciated that my local play earned Vegas comps, their isnt a CET joint worth a shit near me LOL. Harrah's Joliet is a tiny pit, with crappy rooms and nothing else to do near by. Horseshoe looks nice, but they dont have rooms to give me so my play is limited there. Plus I never won anything.

I thought all the big boy gamblers went to Four Winds down the road from Blue Chip. It seems like the high limit room at BC is always empty, and most people around me are minimum betting on the main floor. So I thought for sure that BC was easy on their comps.

If it's $0.50 per point coin in, and looking at my average of 22,000 points per day. I should be rated at $11K coin in per visit. And that gets me $250 in free play, the suite for 3 nights, $100 Spa credit + $140 to the steakhouse. Plus all the random stuff.

Since you know the club, and you play in Vegas. What would that action get me at Sam's Town? My host at BC says she can book me a room wherever, she wont get credit for my play there.

Thats the thing I dont get! I wont argue with them. I think I got my 1st card in Vegas 15 years ago at Main Street Station. So maybe I'm coded wrong? If thats the case I'll take the free upgrade!

I thought it $1.00 = 2 points so 50 cents a point. and not $1.00 = 4 points. If thats the case my ADT is cut in half from where I thought it was. I checked their website, but I cant seem to find anything with dollars to points.

    Exactly!

If you got your first card at MSS, that's likely why your Sapphire. Sam's Town Tunica is technically my home property as that is where I got my first card. Your "home property" is where you got your first card unless you request it to be changed. It's more beneficial to have a Vegas home property. I still don't get why the screen says you need 100k though for it.

As for BC, it's definitely possible points have changed (or maybe its 50c a point for every game?...bullshit deal for slot players like in Vegas). Next time I go (hopefully in a few weeks) I'll ask. I hate how there isn't a countdown display.

If its a home property loop, I'll take it! But yeah the 100K points is weird. I asked my host at BC about it, since I was surprised when I saw online. She said she would check and let me know. I waited 5 days and she never got back to me. So I turned to the boards.

I pride myself on knowing clubs so i can get the most bang for my buck, thats why I feel a little lost here. Not that Sapphire is a world beater, it looks like my host already gives me almost everything on the Emerald card list without me even asking. Locally that is. Except the 50% bonus points thing.

If you find out anything please share!

It all boils down to where your home Boyd's card is issued. Mine was originally in Tunica. There it takes 25 cents coin in to get a point. It takes $1 in Vegas to get a point. Thus it takes the same amount of coin in at Tunica as it does in Vegas to reach Sapphire. The difference is still 100,000 points in Tunica and 25,000 in Vegas. If you ever go to Vegas what you can do is request to have your home casino moved to Las Vegas. Sam's Town in Vegas did that for me. This allows me to now reach sapphire status much easier.

But my homepage still shows I only have 66,500 points. So even if i was coded as vegas (1to1) or as a locals (4to1) I still shouldnt have enough points, in the past 6 months, to be Sapphire.

My host never bothered to reply to me when I asked her about it. She said she would check, and went away. I'm not going to bother asking her again. Just in case she replies "You are correct, its broken, I dropped you down to Ruby again" LOL

I did swing by my local Boyd on Monday. I'm sure I hurt my average some, but I was right next door. I grabbed a copy of my new card, no issues. I asked the desk agent what the "Gift" was for leveling up, she said she didn't know anything about any gifts. I showed her on my phone and she still said she didnt know.

I asked her if she could ask someone, if it was a gift shop credit I wanted to use it that day. Her "Boss" said corporate will notify me of any gift earned. Who knows.

I don't recall my gf's father getting a gift when he made Sapphire, but I could be forgetting. So if there was a "gift" probably not noteworthy.

Did you possibly ask them about the coin-in needed for a point for slots and VP there, @Grid?

I spaced out on the dollars to point. I was too caught up with trying to get someone to answer the gift thing.

Its listed below as "Special Upgrade Gift" when moving from Ruby to Sapphire.

    https://www.bconnectedonline.com/program-overview?cms_id=52

I might try to pounce on one of their point multiplier days. If I was earning 22,000 points a visit, before I was Sapphire, that should now be 27,500 points with the 25% and a 10X point day should be 275,000 points. Thats way more than enough for me to get Emerald.

Now the question is, is Emerald worth it? Looks like most of whats listed my host gives me anyway. Is it anything special when I go to Vegas?

Does anyone know how the point multiplier days work? The email they sent me said 10 X on Reel Slots and 5X on video poker. Is that to be taken literally? As in mechanical reel slots and not video slots like 90% of the casino floor? Or is it all encompassing of all slot machines?
