We are going to Vegas for 4 nights in June Fri-Mon. The first 2 nights we are staying at the Wynn. Our original plan was to then move to NYNY to spend some time on the other side of the strip. But am now having second thoughts. Both the NYNY and Mirage offers are the same. 2 nights comped, $100 credit.

I've stayed at both Hotels before. I stayed at NYNY in December 2014 and remember the rooms being dated, dirty and a bit of a disappointment. I can't imagine they have improve since then.

I stayed at Mirage last summer and remember thinking the rooms were okay and the pool was great I was bothered by how dirty outside the hotel was. Looked like the windows had not been cleaned in weeks.

I like gambling at NYNY and the cheap food/quick eats there but that's about it.

We just like to drink, go to the pool and gamble while in Vegas, not much more.

How are these two properties holding up in 2017. Should we change to Mirage?

Yes, if I was you....I would pick Mirage - first it's bit more updated then nyny not to mention bigger room I believe mirage offers better pool and much better location on strip. You can always go to nyny for food, just charge it to your Mirage room.

While NYNY is fun, Mirage by a mile.

Follow up question.... Does anyone know if I can book both mlife offers and then cancel one? Or will I need to cancel the NYNY offer first and then rebook the Mirage?

@Geogran is right I mis read your question, you would have to cancel one reservation in order for you to make other one if it's same dates.

On an mlife comp, you will need to cancel NYNY before you can book Mirage, or any other mlife property for the same dates - reservations can be seen across all mlife properties - when you call, they will tell you that you need to cancel one before they can book the other. At least that has been the case in the past. I have never booked online but would guess it would be the same?

Depends on what you want to do. The room at Mirage will probably be nicer, as is their pool. But the casino is dark and small plus you would have already spent some time on the far North end of the strip.

NY NY has a great vibe, lively casino with (IMO) a larger assortment of games. The fun food court area and all of the South end resorts that you haven't been able to experience yet.

If it were me, I'd do NY NY just for the new experience. Like having 2 vacations in one.

Since you already stayed at both not long ago, you surely know both.
    Not much changed recently.

Mirage hands down in my opinion. NYNY pool seems to be kind of an afterthought. Slots seemed tighter at Mirage but they had late night $10 pai gow poker when I was there. And the wonderful Squeeze is across the street at the Linq for portable drinks. NYNY is fun but you can go for a stroll and visit it!

Ladies getaway, somewhere on the strip with a pool :)

    This, really.

It boils down to your personal preference. Even though I haven't stayed at Mirage I have still spent plenty of time at both properties. While I can't compare the rooms between the two places, I would choose NYNY. I just love the place and I can over look the age of the rooms and such simply because I love the vibe. But that's me. If you like Mirage better then that's where you go. The great thing about Vegas is you can't really do it wrong if you follow what you want to do.

Okay... WOW update time. Last night I changed the reservation to Mirage. However today after thinking about really how much of a good time we do have when we gamble at NYNY I logged in to mlife to switch it back. I hadn't checked any of the corporate offers, just the hotel offers. I opened the corporate offers and got 2 nights comped at Bellagio and $50 credit. When I booked the Bellagio, I was able to get a fountain view king comped. Super stoked. I'll be sure to spend time at both NYNY and Mirage but couldn't pass up that Bellagio offer.

Hahhaa... You should have seen my wife's face when I told her I was thinking about switching back to NYNY. But she is thrilled with Bellagio. As am I. This is one of the few hotels I have yet to stay at in Vegas.

Mirage is light years ahead of NY. Last visit to NY, was comped but I was not given a room in the morning, they made me wait till 430PM. I had to drag my "valuables" around all day. Drink service was nearly non existent and it seemed like all of the slots were tight as @@.

Well I'm sure you guys will love it there. We stayed there few times and hotel is well run (questionable lol, depends on how busy they are) food is always pretty good. There's so many people go thru that hotel you might have be a bit headache. Conservatory is very nice touch!

I have a weak spot for NYNY , i love it , but i think i would consider the Mirage over NYNY

Maybe @HilliChance is able to give a answer to this :)

I think this is my 5th or 6th Bellagio stay. Just beware that it is like flying first class, you have trouble going back to coach. Just a few tips:

Not all fountain view rooms are created equal. I enjoy the high ones, floors 25+ but some prefer 15-20 to get a more full on view rather then looking down on them. Last June I was in a cypress suite (look it up it is AMAZING to be in that curved room) but it was on 8 so the view was panoramic but no real fountain action.

While not exactly cheap, the snack bar at the back of the casino has good food, quick food and is open 24 hrs. I think you can see the menu on line.

I've been to the pool but not a pool person. I found it unusually quiet and so many options for seating.

If either of you like the spa/salon, Costco sells $100 worth of gift certificates normally for $79.99. They are on the current sale flyer for $69.99. They are SpaFinder certs and accepted at most Mlife properties.

    Enjoy!
