Anyone know if the clown from the entrance of the Boardwalk is still around anywhere or it it was destroyed? More curious than anything. Most hated it but I liked it. Neon graveyard maybe?

I don't remember seeing at the Neon boneyard when I was there a couple of years ago. But they don't have everything on display. I believe they are expanding so maybe it will show up there.

Good question!! Google didn't seem to be much help. I didn't see it in any photos of video of the implosion, so maybe the clown is out there... somewhere.... watching you sleep. :wink2:

I have mixed emotions. It was kind of creepy, so one part of me hopes someone killed it with fire. I also have fond memories of running past The Boardwalk and screaming "It's coming to get you, Barbara!" at my husband on some of our earliest trips and the thought of it being destroyed made me a little sad.

Oh how I miss those days! Boardwalk was classic Vegas kitsch! That clown and those dirty mannequins in the ferris wheel seats were classic!

Sonya: love the NOTLD "Barbara" reference! Ha!

Stayed at Monte Carlo on my first trip to Vegas and walked over to the Boardwalk to play Blackjack. Sat at a $3 table and was a big shot playing red chips. Ordered a Michelob and tipped the waitress $1 and her reaction told me she didn't get tipped much. Needless to say, I never had to ask for another beer, they just showed up.

We stayed there for a bachelor party weekend in the early 1990's and I'm still looking for the blow up doll we covered in Coppertone suntan lotion and put in the elevator.

We were young....although I do plan on doing this again in July.

Got my first big slot win there in the 1990's. It was $500. Man, I was rich!!! I wound up drinking and snorting it though.

I forgot about the Butterbean ad. Thanks for sharing it.

The Surf Buffet was supposed to be a gastric-challenge, but I never went.

Sonya- don't you remember they had an online auction when it closed - we were hoping to get the train tracks that went around the lights? Or something like that....

I loved Boardwalk. Favorite sushi place was there (after Stardust shut down). I had fun playing my nickel Texas Tea slots there, and one memorable time, trying to explain how to use a machine to a French woman. I passed a French fluency exam in college, but my vocabulary was more political economy than gambling ;-)

I don't remember any of the REALLY big pieces (like the clown) being part of the auction....

they had a Craps tub there....

played Blackjack with a couple of guys from Mexico that spoke no English and
they kept trying to put their buy ins in the dealers hands... finally i just took some money and put it out and pointed.
    they got the idea.

a friend of mine looked at the sushi and yelled. I DON'T EAT BAIT!

There was a sign at the cage that read something like.

Was there carpet in the casino or was that just compressed cigarette ashes? I don't remember...

Ah yes, the home of $3 minimum tables - my vote goes in the 'creepy clown' pile

My husband and I saw a Motown cover band there back in the late 90's. It was free with a 2 drink minimum I think, and they were actually pretty good. The place certainly has a certain nostalgic charm.

Went there with the entire family - parents, in laws and kids. Had dinner at the buffet (awful) before seeing Elvis impersonator Trent Carlini with them all. My mother in law is a huge fan. While waiting for the show we were taking turns playing slots and all we winning. Hubby hit for $500 or $600 which was huge for us. Loved the show so it became a favorite until they tore it down not many years after. No clue were the clown face went but thanks for the trip down memory lane!
