I do the surveys sporadically. I get tired of them easily so it has been a while. I completed a few today and then went to see how much I had and check the cost of the points for Southwest. I only have $9.70 cents to use right now. But, I had a free 250 point SW rapid rewards gift sitting in the choices. So I just purchased it for $0 -- A nice little bump. Sometimes I will be sitting a few points away from a free flight. --

So if it has been a while since you checked the e-rewards I would take a look.

what do you mean when you say purchased it for $0 ? I see the reward from my account, however, it costs $15 e-reward dollars to get the 250 Southwest points

Yes it said zero $0 to purchase. Don't know why the gave me a freebie but I will take it.

It looks like it was just a one time deal.

Now I'll have to look! These surveys have produced a few free trips for my wife and I over the years, I have to admit I've been a little sporadic filling them out lately.

I also do e-reward surveys but Southwest is not listed as a reward partner on my account. The only airline listed is American.

I currently have over $800 in points. I've used several hundred for SWA miles, but never have I seen a free offer. Mostly I buy crap magazines and the WSJ. I think it is one year for $75.

That's interesting. I didn't know the amounts would vary like that. For SW points it costs me $15 for 300. I wait til I have $100 then purchase 2400. I have never seen anything offered for free either.

I believe the free SW points are given out when you first sign up using the SW link. I got this as well when I signed up and did my first survey.

I've been doing the surveys for SW points for years- this was the first time I had seen it-- pretty much stumbled on to it. I was just checking how much more I needed to purchase some SW points. I have gotten bored with the surveys-- I kind of do them on binges. Then I lay off for months.

Thanks for the info, I have never taken the surveys and the link on SW to join is not active right now. I'll wait for it to become active to join again for the extra free points.

Ok, question, first time I have heard of this. How do I get an invitation to join? Checked out the website and it says it is by invitation only.

It has been so long ago that I signed up. But I think if you go to the SW rapid rewards page link I showed above and then click on email updates and check the box allowing email updates then e-rewards should send you an invitation -- I don't know how long it takes. I just signed my husband up -- I never bothered before - he probably won't do it.
