My fellow Canadians-Tim Hortons

How far would you walk if there was a Tim Hortons in the Linq promenade or the Bally's shops?

 

I wouldn't have to walk to far as I usually stay at one of the CET hotels. However, you're right, I would walk to get to a Tims.

 

Hey! What about people from Western New York who eschew all other competitors in order to go to Tim Horton's no matter what? He played for US when he died, you know!

But yeah anyhoo I'd walk 7/13th of a mile.

I've thought about this a little more. If you wait long enough, you wouldn't have to walk very far. They'd be on every corner and in every gas station.

 

I forgot about the northern states that have and support Tim Hortons. New York, Michigan. I have always wondered why there is no Tim Hortons in Florida, Arizona and Vegas, three places where Canadians can be found fairly regularly

 

I looked into the costs of a franchise, but it was a bit out of my league. I think you need a net worth over $1 million with $500k liquid. Love me some Timmy's coffee, way better than Dunkin Donuts.

 

I live in Saskatoon. I have to say Tim's may be the worst coffee in town. Terrible. The sammies are even worse. Once they were bought out it went big time down hill. Mickey D's coffee is far better now.

 

How far would I walk the other direction?

Tim Hortons is fine, and I'd rather get a coffee there than at triple the price at Starbucks. I go to it in Canada because it is convenient and predicable. But this brand as Canadian institution thing is silly. It is weak, bland coffee. Missing your double double? By the time you add that much cream and sugar to any generic light roast, you won't be able to tell the difference.

And if there was one at the Linq promenade I would never ever visit.

 

In my humble opinion the brand and product is not nearly once it was. Once Tim's was bought and ran by Wendys in the early 90's quality went down hill. Now its merger with Burger King and Popeye's hasn't improved it any.

SO my vote is, I wouldn't even cross the street for it.

 

Our 'local' had a Tim''s. It's a great place for an easy breakfast or an early afternoon pick-me-up cappuccino.

 

there will soon be one opening down the street from where I work. any recommendations? what to eat or not to eat.

 

I probably wouldn't bother. I can have the odd one here and there but I'd rather pay Starbucks' over-inflated prices than go to Timmy's. Timmy's coffee doesn't sit well in me. Too much rumbly in my tumbly. The Ice Caps were pretty good but now that I'm diabetic I avoid any sugary drinks.

I go to 7-11 for their coffee before I go to Tim's.

 

Won't it all be made with US tap water, specifically Las Vegas tap water? If so then the coffee and donuts won't taste the same as Tim's...

 

Breakfast sandwiches are good. Dark Roast coffee is far better than their "regular" coffee

 

I'm Canadian and am continuing my boycott of Tim Horton's until they get proper lids for their coffee.

Never. I only go in a Tim's when travelling through small towns and want a quick, consistent lunch and there are no other chain restaurants.

 

Could always just bring some with you - Don't some LV hotels have Keurig's in the room?

 

I prefer Tim's to Starbucks so if the walk wasn't TOO far I would definitely head there.

 

Hortons, just outside the Fairmont, at YVR. Talk about a combo!!!
