We've been seeing a lot of these threads, but I literally just got the email today for something I never expected. Back in January, I did some high limit gambling at the Wynn (earning just over a thousand points). Today, I get an email saying I'm comped for three free nights at the Wynn (and to ask about a room at the Encore). So I check the website and there are 0 blackout dates from May to October. Not only that, when I called the booking agent got me Friday - Monday, early check in at the Encore! Wewt wewt, booked and booked. I think they're banking on me being a High Roller ($100 / hand Bacarrat) with an average slot bet of $25. We'll see how it goes, but worth the shot.

This offer crushes anything I've ever gotten from CET and VP by a mile with how little was gambled. VP treats me nicely now that I've shown serious play, especially relative to CET, but gosh, this offer is nuts! Now, the question becomes, do I burn the bridge, or do I play and keep the loyalty?

I would vote for "play and keep the loyalty".

My only email today was an ad/offer for male enhancement pills.

I like the email you received a lot better, spdandpwr! :D
    Congrats!

Eat some great foods at the Wynn and charge it to your hotel room. Also gamble at the Wynn because it doesn't matter how much
you spend. You are on their free room list now. Think about how much you saved with the free rooms and use the money you would have paid for a hotel room at the Wynn. Have a BLAST!!
I know you will have to pay the hotel for food and other things. Do you have to pay for the
resort fees? That may not be included?....

@spdandpwr - nice!! Smart to jump on that, especially weekend and with no blackouts!

We used to get three nights free anytime with FP, then down to two nights Sun-Thurs with buffet - lol - guess that happens when we only stay once every 12-18 months. But we do love that place, partial to Wynn over Encore, but just cannot win on slots there .

Resort fees are taken care of as well. Only charge = $150 for incidentals.

My slots were a mixed bag over there. I'm hoping I'll get something this time around. Baccarat did me VERY well!

If that was your first time gambling at Wynn, future offers might not be as strong - Wynn tends to give a teaser bounce-back offer, and then throw you to the wolves after that, unless you are a really big player.

    Sweet offer, enjoy!!!

That's typical for Wynn...three free nights, $200 to $300 in Free Play...not out of the ordinary. BOOK IT!!

Ditto this. Never chase comps, but maximize them, and sometimes better places DO comp better.

I was in the same dilemma years ago with MC vs. Aria. Aria came in with better comps (overall worth) for the same play. I rolled the dice and put my money on Aria even though I figured it was a one time teaser offer. We're now going on our fourth trip to Aria totally comped, two stays in suites...same money in as we used to spend at MC. Best. Decision. Ever.

If you're getting better comps at better places for the same play, ride that pony till it lathers!

yeah, I had a teaser offer like that for the Wynn last fall, 3 nights and $225 free play, no resort fees. We took advantage of that and the Cosmo matched that offer for another couple of nights, we had some sweet rooms on that trip!

I agree that it is there typical teaser offer, you also don't need to use it right away. I haven't taken them up on it yet, because of their 2xs odds at the craps tables, but I have gotten it for about 18 months now.

Most hotels do not charge the resort fee upfront. And of course the $150 is not real charge and you could get all of that back. As to paying resort fee on this reservation - sometimes hard to say unless they specifically said it was covered as part of the comp. Sometimes they are, sometimes they are not.

Wait, is there freeplay or resort credit included in addition to the free nights?

No FP, but again I barely gambled...1k points is 1500-2000 coin-in + 2 hours at the Baccarat table. Nothing by their standards.

I get those offers all the time, but haven't put in any appreciable play at Wynncore in over three years. 3 nights and $3/400 freeplay. They even have called me twice and asked me if I was getting the offers. I keep telling them that it's "just timing".

The real reason is that my luck has typically been so crappy at the Wynn that I refuse to play much there. If I earned a buffet with a line pass, I might consider it, but for me, that place is so TIGHT, that I typically avoid it.

Which places do you find to be the least tight?

It varies, and my opinion differs from anyone else. Slots are luck, right down to the casino and machine selection. I used to not like Venetian/Palazzo until I hit my first hand pay there, then after 3 or 4, I figured that they weren't "so bad". For years, I wouldn't play at CET casinos, but I am now a Seven Star member.

Over the last 40 years, I have pretty much disregarded (won't say debunked) any slot "superstition". Slot location, slot type, slot denomination, etc. I play at casinos that I like and that treat me well, and play slots that are entertaining. Last year I was very unlucky, and only had 6 W-2Gs, this year, I have only had one W2-G, but am still ahead after 7 trips. So what's the reason? I was just "luckier" in picking machines.

Machines have no memory, and their percentage payback is set over more hours/dollars that you can play. Can you tell the difference between an 85% payback machine and an 88% payback machine? I don't think so. It's all a matter of being lucky and picking the right machine at the right time.

As an example. In 2014, I was pursuing Platinum level at mLife, and had horrible luck, down about $9,000 which was way more than I had budgeted for. Resigned to my loss, and on my way back to the room, I saw a $5 Triple Cash (three reel) machine. I said to myself "$200 more, and that's it). On about the 6th or 7th pull, I got red 7 - red 7, and the third wheel continued to spin. I said to myself, anything, please, just so I don't go home a "total loser". Then, up came the triple cash symbol. $6,000!!! I collected my cash, paid off a marker, and went to my room to pack my bags. So, why didn't this happen on the first day of my trip? Why did I have to get beaten so badly before that happened? There is no reason, except for the fact that I didn't pick the right machine until that exact time at the end of the trip.

This year I have been luckier at CET casinos, but then again, 90% of my play has been in CET casinos. This next trip, I will be staying at Aria and Harrahs. The first two days, I will be playing at Aria, MGM Grand, V/P, the D, and QQQQ. (maybe Downtown Grand as well). The second two days will be exclusively CET casinos. I saw an interesting selection of machines at Bally's so I may spend more time there.

    P.S. Sorry to hijack the thread . . . .

Parlaying the Wynn offer at the Cosmo sounds brilliant to me! Go for it!
