    1) Which rooms do you prefer, west facing rooms or east facing rooms? I've only been in the west facing rooms which were noisy especially due to the traffic of cars honking their horns at people crossing the street when the "don't walk" sign was displayed. Is the east facing rooms quieter?
    2) Where is the Paradise café (not Paradise buffet)? I've seen pictures of the oxtail soup served there which looks good. I'm guessing Paradise café is behind Paradise buffet so to gain access do you by-pass the buffet line and go straight to the back area or do you have to wait for a hostess to seat you?
    3) Where is the Rocky Mountain chocolates?

I have stayed there many times. the last time, my room was facing west, looking straight down was the street between Flea-mont and Binions. the "K" from the neon parking sign was right outside my window, I loved it and still have a picture of it on my phone.

The chocolate shop is next to the donut shop. I think it is a dunkin donut and is next to the fremont lanai. The Paradise café is behind the paradise buffet. When you go into the buffet just say that you are going to the café.

There are actually a few little known, north/south facing rooms. These are the rooms in the "annex". There is a "shortrise" that runs parallel to Fremont Street. These rooms are on the 4th and 5th floors and and are located directly behind the elevators just off the casino floor. If I remember right, the odd rooms face Fremont and the even numbered rooms face Ogden. The Ogden facing rooms are very quiet. The rooms in the annex are slightly different than the tower rooms. Same tiny bathrooms, but the AC/Heat is built into the entryway ceiling instead of on the exterior wall like the tower rooms and the rooms are also a tad smaller. I once stayed in room 451. That was a corner room that faced/overlooked the 3rd street stage. Not a good room. That 3rd Street Stage is loud until at least 1 am.

Don't trip on the little rise going into the bathroom after you've had a few. Ask me how I know.

The 50+ Young at Heart Promotion at Fremont on Wednesdays is now only for locals. I'm 51 yrs old and have been doing this promotion ever since turning 50. Today I was sad to discover it is now only for locals. I checked the Bconnected site and it confirms only for locals as well. When I swiped my card at the Fremont's kiosk this morning at first I thought the kiosk was broken showing "no promotions." I then went to the slot club booth and was informed it is only for locals now. Oh well it was good while it lasted.

Wow thanks for that ugly news. I have been doing this for 10 years. Dumb move on there part, I use to make point to go to Gold Coast when is was Young at heart and often brought a friend. I made sapphire this year guess I won't be doing that again.

That's funny. I did the same thing yesterday. I thought the kiosk was broken also. Bummer. Were you playing craps yesterday morning at Fremont? I was there about 730am.

Fet, no that wasn't me. In fact I didn't even play anything at Fremont and left Fremont because my mind was set on playing the YAH promotion but since they stopped it I went to 4 queens and played the $1 WOF, I started with $100, got 5 spins, cashed out with $200.

I have been loyal to Boyd/Fremont for the last 5 years. I did at least 70%, if not more, of my play with them. This change with YAH, multipliers, food, etc. has now made me rethink that loyalty. Loyalty is a two-way street. I have a trip planned for June and my first nights will be spent at El Cortez. From there, I think I will take The D up on their offers. These bean counters think they have it all figured out, but we as players/guests also have a say in these matters.

I guess I will have to change my mailing address to my condo, see if that works.

No more Young at Heart? I am disappointed with Boyd. I liked that promotion. I am getting more and more selective where I stay and where I gamble now. The more I get nickeled and dimed the less likely I stay at the property.

Yeah but that is getting harder because most hotels even downtown charge resort fees. I'm not much of a vp or slot player so I didn't make use of that YAH stuff.

Old news by now but YAH should be good for non-locals again.

Newer news that I wanted to share is that both of the men's bathrooms on the casino floor at Fremont when I visited March 1 thru March 5 have been remodeled. The public restroom by the valet and the other one by the buffet were quite nicely redone. Granted we're talking bathrooms (yawn) but hey I thought it was worth mentioning (lol).

Small clarification - non-locals can participate in YAH promo at Fremont again. Also the 4 "Coasts" - Gold Coast, Orleans, Sam's Town and Suncoast. Still locals only at MSS and Cal.

So that's some good news anyway.

    Good points letsgotovegas.

For March Fremont dropped its buffet breakfast price to $6.49 on Mon thru Thurs. I believe it was $8.49 before.

Let's hope that this special will also be available in April, when I'm in vegas (3 weeks from now). I always pay with cash so it would be great to pay $3.50 for a breakfast buffet.
