I am thinking about not renewing my Founder's Card and just doing DIAD instead. I will be arriving this evening and staying for about 10 days and am currently/temporarily demoted to Platinum until CET gets around to upgrading FC members again (which I am told may take 2 weeks or more). I need to pay to renew FC at the end of this month anyways, so figure I may as well just earn Diamond the old fashioned way where it will be good until January 2019 and can save on FC membership fee ($295x2 for 2017 and 2018), resort fees for this trip (probably going to approach $400 if Diamond upgrade not processed by end of trip for FC), plus I will be able to enjoy Diamond for the entire trip.

Is the 9/5 JOB DSTP 10 play machines in the Planet Hollywood high limit room still the best machines to do this on?

At $70/spin there can obviously be some fairly high swings and a lot of money needs to be loaded in the machine. Can I bring a bunch of cash to the cashier and have them give me a TITO instead of having to feed 1 $100 bill to the machine at a time?

    TIA

The short answer is yes. I do it all the time at Cosmo and don't believe it would be any different anywhere else.

This is a useful thread that may help you determine which machine is the best to take a stab at this. I don't wanna copy anyone else's work or misquote it and send you off in the wrong direction. Our local VP expert Tring will probably chime in to help on machine selection.

Wow, totally missed that thread. Nice. I was in Vegas at the time it was created. I can totally vouch for CrystalMath's work. But he never found the correct multiplier distribution for Double STP, so his numbers will be slightly off on that game, but likely by very little.

The correct multiplier distribution in DSTP for both the deal and draw is as follows:

Chance of triggering on deal and draw: 1 in 15 each.
    2X: 17%
    3X: 33%
    4X: 16%
    5X: 24%
    8X: 8%
    10X: 2%
    Average multiplier: 4.01X

And technically on the strip, 9/5 JoB with DSTP is the best choice in terms of return at 98.95% (should be in PHo high limit) . But unfortunately the Double STP part also cranks up the variance significantly.

Even with a $5000 bankroll, he estimated that going bust 10 play Double STP on doing Diamond in a Day perfectly (either exactly 5000 TC in a day, or exactly 2500 TC each over 2 days) is still almost 20%!

If you want Risk of Ruin to decrease, you really prefer to have lower variance. There are a few options for this. One is that you don't have to play all ten lines on DSTP. Those machines will allow you to bet 7 credits per hand for anywhere from 1 to 10 hands if you adjust settings via the touch screen.

Another option is you don't have to play DSTP at all. It will lower your expected return to 98.45% for betting 5 instead of 7, but the variance and risk of ruin goes down significantly. According to CrystalMath, risk of ruin at 10 line dollars goes down to 2.7%.

You can lower risk by playing less lines and more "rounds" of play. Of course the less you gamble per "round" the longer it will take to complete.

Another option is the 100 play quarter machine at Planet Hollywood with 9/5 JoB. Even playing 50 lines of that per spin vs. 10 lines of dollars has a lower risk of ruin with $5000 (1.55% vs.2.7%).

And finally, if you're willing to venture to the Rio and play there for quite a while, they also have 8/5 Bonus for full points at dollars. But you have to play 5000 hands of it each day for two days so it's a bit of a grind.

    http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/rio-all-suite-hotel-casino

Unfortunately CrystalMath didn't calculate the RoR numbers on playing this, but I would expect them not to be too high since bonus is a low variance game. Possibly less than 1% for a $5000 bankroll.

    Good luck on your trip!

I was gonna suggest $70 of hands (56) on the .25 100 play JOB there but I was not sure if the RoR would go up or down so I let you answer. I thought it would go down.

Yeah that thread and google doc he made are really good, I usually don't link other boards here but I had to cause it was so extensive.

I recently read a VMB post about a machine eating a tito and the person fighting to get it back, even when they opened the machine. I figured this never happened, but a few people chimed in they occasionally have had a machine eat a tito with no credit given, but that it was "fixed" quickly.

If you're loading a huge tito you might take a quick pic before loading, or write your initials/name on it. Odds of it happening? Very slim. But after reading it can happen, even occasionally, it made me a little more cautious on loading a big tito without marking it somehow, and I am sure my titos are much smaller than yours! :D :D :D (And I am being literal, not a double entendre)

Yeah, only heard a story like that once on here. I would personally be more concerned about leaving the balance of a TITO behind after a handpay. Many people have done that before.

I would have ZERO concern about a tito being eaten. The few I have had were taken care of quickly.

As to getting a big TITO via the cage... I highly doubt I would personally do that. Taking the time to actually put cold hard cash into the machine tends to keep me aware of what I am doing. Though I have run up large TITO balances many times, I find it sometimes a problem. Like the machine does not want to cash out and you have to call a tech. Or the new TITO will not work. Not very common, but I have had it happen.

Also, if I put in a $2500 tito, folks then read the credits and think I must have just won that much - when i reality I am still far from even (SAD),

So, yes you can go to the cage... but if you are talking about a thousand or two... inserting in the machine would take the same time.

Just did DIAD on Planet Hollywood JoB 9/5 DSTP machines. Ten play for 70/spin. Was down about 5k at one point... Ended up losing about 2300.

Overall felt like I ran fairly awful. Best dealt hand with multiplier was 2 pair. No handpays and best hit was 4OaK with 4x on a draw.

    This.

Especially when I'm cashing out at the cage, chips or TITO, anything more than $500 it seems they are congratulating me. Sometimes that $500 is from $2,000!

    Maybe it's the way I look :D:D

I put two bills into my slot machine wife  Triple Wild Cherry (cue Steve Perry singing "Sherry") at the local.
Before I could even spin a friend of the family (notorious for loose lips) came around the corner, saw the $200 credit and congratulated me on my big win.

The next day word had gotten around our small town and I was given congrats by many folks.
I'm kind of glad the family friend hadn't stuck around to see what happened to the $200.

Isn;t that the truth. I turn $4,000 of my money into a $1400 TITO and somebody thinks I am doing well.

    Good day my ass!

Cash out a few grand but down ten... Last thing I want to hear is congratulations.

Damn, just caught up to this. Yeah, not too great of a result, probably a bit below the median result. No royals make winning tough since they are worth $4k. And no hand pays on JoB isn't too surprising either. Basically need a dealt quad/SF or a Royal to pull it off.

Hope the rest of the trip goes better!
