We do not have Uber or Lyft in our city. I was travelling with my senior Mom and middle aged somewhat tech challenged me. I decided not to rent a car this trip. Parking fees at Strip properties were the final straw!
We arrived at Terminal 3. Very clear instructions as to where to get picked up.
Through research, I was told not to try to book until at the spot. I wish I would have ordered as soon as we deplaned but the wait was still only about 10 minutes. A driver who was waiting for another fare was very helpful to me.
The only thing that annoyed me was that I had downloaded the app for our June trip but didn't use service so I could not enter any promo codes.
We used the service for our entire three day trip. Back and forth to airport, from Ellis Island to Orleans, from Orleans to Main Street Station and from our hotel the Flamingo back out to Orleans........we are going to stay at Orleans next time, but that is a story for another time. Usually cars were less then 2 minutes away. Pick up areas marked clearly except MSS but it is a small pick up area anyway.
All drivers were great, very friendly. Cars all newer models and spotless. I know we got "long hauled" going back to airport but the cost was still far less than a cab.
We tipped in cash but there was an option to do so as part of the billing process. I loved the no cash changing hands.
We felt very safe the whole time.
I would not hesitate to recommend and I will use Lyft for all our future trips. It was so nice not to have to drive and park and enjoy a few beverages!
I told my Mom that her bridge and golf gangs will be impressed with her new experience........lol

    Yep - it works great.

Go where and when you want.
    No dealing with parking fees.
No dealing with long walks or waits to get car.
No dealing with drinking and driving.
No dealing with "where is my car"?
No dealing with rental car shuttle.

    Yea for you!

I liked it when I used it but I did find a lack of knowledge of local streets, where to go more so than with any cab I ever took. Just not know which street when through to Las Vegas BLVD leaving lucky Dragon for example. Not perfect, cheaper than cabs of course.

Thanks for this review. I 've used Uber 3 times and loved it and just downloaded the Lyft app this weekend. Intend to try later this week when I travel.

At this stage in their existence, it is just common sense to use LYFT/UBER. Its hard to believe anyone under the age of 50 needs sold on it. Its provides you your driver, car, and pre-determined route...cake walk. You are a smart person.

Good review! I always use Lyft/Uber in LV even though I get a rental car for the week.

First time I used Uber was at Laguardia Airport - in the dark. Worked great.

We still rent a car because we like to do a lot of excursions around the area. But we stay off strip and have used Uber/Lyft to go to/from the strip. Quick and easy. And cheap. One time the driver had phone chargers ready to go in the back, both Apple and Android. We didn't need them but it was a nice touch.

Where was the pick up spot at MSS? North parking lot, opposite side of the casino from valet parking?
Finally broke down and got a smartphone, so I might try it for a trip to the Strip.

We used the valet entrance, not sure if it was the correct one but the driver was there very quickly.

Yeah, I think I'm going to use them my next trip. I'm getting in at about 11PM, and the last bus downtown is at 11:45ish I think. Don't want to be halfway there, and them saying thanks for riding, now get off.

But, since you downloaded it early, you couldn't put in a promo code? That stinks, I did the same thing, so I'm sure I'm in that same boat.

I bet you will be. If my Mom had a phone we could have downloaded it on her phone and used the promo code but she doesn't have one so we were out of luck. :(

Is there a new signup promotion for 2017 for Lyft?
