I saw something on Youtube the other day that got me thinking:

Apparently these "shampoo scalp massages" are very common across Asia, but I've never seen or heard of anything like this in the states. Can something like this be had in Vegas, and if so where? Can it be found in other cities in the states? I'll be honest, it looks relaxing enough to justify a trip to Myanmar if push comes to shove.

This must be the "good time" the ladies that approach me in Crystals are talking about!
I've said, "No" all these years...:faint:

It does look relaxing, though! :D

I would imagine that if it is available anywhere in the US of A, it'd probably be either LA or Vegas. A similar treatment was available when I was in the Army in Korea. Let's just leave it at 'similar'.

If it's in Vegas I would bet it would be on Spring Mountain road.

Not for me! Sounds real nice, until your head gets lowered slowly, and the feet come up..........Next thing you know, BAM! They are waterboarding you.

You're right. I think I may have found one.

As long as the massage comes first, I'm down.

Oh, man. It's awesome. I make it a hobby to get a haircut in foreign countries. So for I've done it in China, Taiwan, N. Ireland, Italy, England, and Japan. The best was in Taiwan. There was a lot of language barrier and no matter the country, the first person I speak with knows a very small amount of English always leaves to get someone who knows even less than they do. The haircut in Taiwan was fine but then they mentioned massage. Oh, hell yes! They said I could go upstairs for deluxe that would cost more or stay down in the salon for regular. This was through very broken English and I'm not sure what they were implying as it looked like a fine upstanding salon on a main road. Not one of those salons off the many alleys in Taipei. I have their business card in case I ever go back.

So, which part was awesome? The haircut, the massage, or the massage?

My buddy gets his hair cut at a chain called Sports Cuts. They offer a head message for a couple bucks extra. That is the reason he goes, just for that.

I go there (Sports Clips) for my hair cuts. Here, it's $25 for the MVP treatment, which is hair cut, 2-5 minute shampoo/scalp massage with a hot or cold towel on your face, then a 1-2 minutes shoulder/back massage with a massaging device. You can pay more ($5 or $10?) and they will double up on the shampoo/massage time, Some of the ladies at Sports Clips are much better and don't hurry through the shampoo massage part, but I would say it doesn't compare what's in that video.

I got a full massage in Saigon once. After a while, they put you in this hot box. You can't open the door from the inside. I was scared shitless that some jamoke would come through the door with an AK-47 and zap my ass. I was composing the C.O.'s letter to my Mom in my head. I was hoping for "Died while performing heroically" over "Died in a hot box in a massage parlor". The girl came back and offered either a hand job or poontang. I chose the latter. A few days later, my pee started to burn. Sidelined for 8 weeks. Happy Ending, my ass.

My grandma shared how my great Uncle also visited a certain establishment in Saigon just a few weeks before coming home. He brought home a nasty itch and some "dishonorable discharge."

    TMI, grandma. TMI...:faint:

Correctamundo. I enjoy the shampoo at Sport Clips as well, but it only lasts two or three minutes. For $25 you could probably get your scalp massaged for two or three hours in many parts of Asia.

I've never seen a shampoo head massage at a spa but I've seen more than one spa outside of Vegas that has some sort of head, neck and shoulder massage. But if a stylist is good at a shampoo, you will get a good scalp massage although it's not going to take twenty minutes to do.

I've had that, too but the massage in Taipei was on a whole other level.
I've been to sports clips in Texas. Not quite a foreign country but close. No comparison on the massage. I'm ready to fly the 15 hours to Taipei again just for the massage.
