I notice on the B Connected site that nearly all Boyd casinos offer "priority slot service" as a benefit of the Emerald tier.

What in the cornbread hell is priority slot service?

I'm guessing that they can reserve a slot machine they like. I often see slot machines that have a reserved sign on them.

It means if you are playing on a certain machine, and you want to take a break, eat dinner, etc....slot services will Lock the machine and put a reserved sign on the machine.
When they come back, Slot ppl will unlock machine for them.
Real nice when it is super busy!

It seems a bit short sighted as if another card level player sits and puts a boatload of play into a machine and gets hungry, how long could it take to verify the $'s in and put a sign up? Perhaps that is also available if one asks but I don't know.
If I am winning I seldom stop to eat at the regular time. If losing I need to get away from the beast for a while without feeling I MUST return.

This whole think of "saving" a machine is... well... almost nuts. I know people think their machine is due to hit and they do not want anyone else to play it.

In the high limit slot area at Horseshoe in Tunica - they often have a sign up telling folks they are unable to hold machines when they are busy.

I could see wanting to hold VP machines with good pay tables, as they are harder to find.

I despise squatters as much as anyone. BUT.... at any given casino, you should be able to hold a machine at least long enough to use the bathroom, 15 minutes max. just sayin.

Well mostly what I see on machines saved is a small progressive type machine that has a major and a minor jackpot that is a must hit before 500.00 and minor that must hit before 50.00 and when major is up around 490-499 you see slot of these holds especially on fri-sat.

My high limit area will save a machine they know who I am. I'm not there to dance..

I actually used to do this all the time in remix at a casino I frequently went to...mostly because we could get two bar-tops next to each other, which also happened to have the best theo earn and highest payback vp...they always "said" they only would hold them for two hours...but I once had one held (just to see how long) for six hours (then again, no one did ask for it to be unlocked)

Crop dusting a group is pretty effective too. Taco Bell the night before works well. It gives you a temporary opportunity to play the rows you travel through.

Anyone can get a slot attendant to hold a slot long enough to use the bathroom or cash a TITO ticket. But if you want to go to have a meal and come back, that's when "priority" service comes into a play. I don't care except when they shut down really popular games that everyone wants to play. And I've seen high rollers shut down machines while they play other stuff or worse, to keep people off a game that they never intended to return to.

its called "capping" the machine and some people do play long periods on one machine because that is their machine they love to play, they earned it with their play...however, some places like I believe CET has time limits for both diamond and 7* to prevent people from capping it all day

I have never utilized this as I rarely play slots
