I get the impression that Hyde is one of the classier/fancier Vegas nightlife spots. Would a black suit with a sportshirt look ok there in late feb?

I think there was a thread a while back about wearing suits to Vegas nightclubs and the general consensus was that you would look like you work there. Is Bellagio Hyde an exception for this?

Lots of people wear suits in Vegas these days, especially the younger generation when out for the evening.

@paper - not sure what u mean by this
do u mean only if *wanted* to be tipped? like I work at the club?

or is this code that most ladies @ vegas clubs don't dig guys in suits and are much less likely to give them attention?

Well, though I am not a big club person I think it's nice to see guys dressed up in Vegas for a special night. The sport shirt would add a more unique/slightly casual touch that IMO would also distinguish you from men who work in the casino that would have a suit on with a shirt and tie.

@Flowers - good point - club patrons should not wear a tie. a shirt with a bit of personality should be worn. do you think this shirt will work for bellagio?:

it's low key but seems more stylish than what a staff worker would wear, especially with the contrast smoke buttons. I think this combo would be better:

I think Vegas staff tend to wear black suits more than navy and the blue shirt in the second combo above is a bit more flamboyant than what a Vegas staff member would be likely to wear. Unfortunately I misplaced the pants for my navy suit so I won't be able to wear the second combo for this trip.

Paperposter knows the scene better than I do but I have been to Hyde a couple of times. For there or any occasion in Vegas, I think both shirts look nice!

I was there over the summer and we went to Hyde club and I did end up wearing a suit but I would try to stay away from wearing black...not only you would look like working (lol) wear more "lighter" color or slack/jacket combo and yes sportier shirt would look good. We went on Sunday night and it was kinda slow but since I'm a older (40s) it didn't really bother me. Wife liked it lesser crowed

yeah I agree that a black suit can def look like a hotel worker / general staff suit. I would recommend a non-black suit to others as well

I wouldn't say a suit would be out of place in itself but a plain black suit and standard shirt would be pretty out of place by making you look like a bouncer or promoter. I personally would go with a navy or blue or grey suit to differentiate from the workers who will be in black suits. Definitely no tie is a must. If you only have a black suit as an option then look for a more bold color shirt. I prefer a nice pair of dark jeans and a dress shirt with some pattern along with a pair of brown cap toe oxfords for the club. Sometimes it's better to look like you're not trying too hard especially if you're single and looking to mingle lol.

    Just my two cents.

thanks paper - you're def in the know when it comes to vegas and you clearly have a pretty strong opinion about suits. I was thinking that hyde tended to be one of the more dressed up establishments on the strip. would modern denim, sporty sport shirt and black sports coat work ok for hyde?
