    Hi there.

I booked a three night stay at California with my Sapphire comp. I need an extra night so I booked my normal monthly offer, giving me four nights total.

A friend is telling me this isn't allowed. It did let me book it, the confirmations say nothing about not being able to combine. I cannot see the verbiage on the offer as it vanishes once you book.

Does anyone have experience with this?

    Thank you.

it does say such somewhere in the fine print. however I have done it before with no problem. if you were booking through the 800 # they may tell you no. if you booked online and they notice, at check-in, they may give you a scolding and say don't do it again. likely, they wont say anything. they should be happy to fill the rooms.

I did it once between California vp tournament which I booked online from mailer and sleazy had a 4 nite stay booked at MSS. Did not have a problem but host said they do it but aren't supposed to do so. Either a lack of coordination or detection to reservations or just a rule so you can't stay downtown for 12 days or so bouncing between properties at the end of one month / beginning of another.
"I read the rules but really didn't understand it thoroughly so went ahead and it allowed me.....I have a confirmation number for so I just assumed it didn't apply."
I kept telling the host if they didn't honor the 7 days I wanted to go ahead and pay for the cheaper days and not be comped the cheap days, paying for weekends. Good luck.

stayed MSS end of October 4 day comp. Went to Samstown 2 days promo. Came back to MSS Nov. for 5 days (4 days comp). Paid for 1 night, the first one to satisfy the 72 hour rule between comps. Did over phone using sapphire rate for the one day paid. This was over Halloween and rooms were supposed to be sold out.

They are making me checkout between offers on my upcoming trip. I am staying two weeks, and thought I could use one offer on one end, the second on the other. They are making me leave for two days and come back.

Are one of these offers the Sapphire free nights? Or just like month end and month beginning?

One is for the Super Bowl party, and the other was just my 3 free nights.

I once booked 3 comped nights at MSS and paid for a fourth night. Towards the end of the stay, I talked to a host and found out we had played enough to get the 4th night comped also. We are also Sapphire. Dont know if this helps, but I thought I would throw that out there.

When I need to stay more than my 4 nite offer, I book MSS, then book comp rooms at Orleans or GC.
They just don't want back to back between the 3 downtown hotels.

I have zero experience with Boyd, but it seems like your Sapphire nights should be considered a tier benefit, not a promotion. I just looked at the Boyd site and I don't see anything about tier-based comp nights for Sapphire level, though

Like Cosmo will let you book tier award nights back-to-back with a marketing offer, and MLife will let you book a Tier Discount back-to-back with an offer, or let you book an offer back-to-back with host-arranged nights.

Don't know if Boyd looks at it that way.

You get three free nights for making Sapphire. So it kind of it a tier benefit. Then you have your regular offers. It could go either way I suppose.

Yep 3 for Sapphire but depends when you made I believe. I have to use mine by March 31 and don't go til April or May. Wish it was available anytime in year.
Online and on the mailers there is a disclaimer that says can not be used with any other offer(on both sapphire mailer and my monthly 4 night mailer). But using at off strip and downtown back to back is not a problem. Boyds treats them differently

Sapphire nights still an offer, and the "no back to back" rule still apply here.
*note: back to back only means the same property. As mentioned already, Boyd properties are separated.
On the other hand, no matter how you book your room, if you care about your future offers, you still need to play enough to cover the room.
And if you do that, you can just simply pay for the fourth night and get it comped at the back end.

I made Sapphire last September but have never heard anything about this 3-night stay as some sort of benefit/reward. How do you get it?

Actually all 3 downtown are considered same property for back to back. Off strip separate but believe they are linked like downtown for stays. But going downtown, then off strip, and back downtown works, or vice versa. not sure it would work going from GC to Sams and back to GC or orleans
