    My Trip Report

Less than 24 hours until the wife and I head off to Vegas. Flying out of Cleveland to San Francisco (No way in hell I was going through Newark, Chicago or DC this time of year) and then get to Vegas around noon. Then off to Planet Hollywood to get checked in.

Dinner at N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms. My wife hasn't been there and her parents and I both have on different trips. She reminds us of this and wants to go. So we will go Thursday night. Plus we will use the $50 coupon from LVA.

Other than going to Wicked Spoon at Cosmo, Cravings at Mirage (LVA 2-for-1 coupon) and then NYE at Margaritaville, I think we will just gamble and check out things for our BIG trip in June with our group trip. Hoping we hit a few hand pays and get some bowl game action at the sports book.

I'll try to post semi-live. But this is our first trip away from our 2.5-year-old and 6-month-old so we just want to enjoy the lack of screaming children in the middle of the night and all out meltdowns. :wink2:

Lots of drinking, definitely some gambling (slots and vp with maybe some table games) and eating like kings...

Here's hoping for a first class upgrade on our flight out to San Fran (Vegas is already full...) but having it on a 5 hour flight would be sweet!

    Go Huskers!!
    Go Bucks

    Thanks, Richard!

We didn't get the upgrade to first class to SFO but that's why I bought mini bottles of vodka for the flight...

Greetings from 32,000 ft somewhere over middle America. Airport was a little bit more of a cluster than it should have been. A flight to Dulles was cancelled so that caused issues at the United counter but we got through fairly quick and pre check was a breeze. Stopped at the United Club and had one of these. [IMG]

Then the bartender was cool enough and told us to take travelers in coffee cups!!!

Haven't even touched the mini bottles yet!!!

Well so we had a little time to kill in SFO and the food we picked sucked. It was a Chipotle knock off. Oh well. Flight to Vegas was smooth and quick.

As soon as we landed our Driver from Omni had texted and greeted us at bag claim. Had a brand new BMW 745 waiting. No issues getting to Planet Hollywood.

I checked in online but wanted to see if we could get into our room earlier. Did the $20 smammich and got upgraded to an Ultra Hip Room (we had booked a hip room) either way it was remodeled and still the fountain view we wanted.

Had to run to Crystals as my wife's watch broke. Sadly the Tag store had to send it out to get fixed. My wife goes "well we aren't even here an hour and I've lost my watch" Oh well who needs a watch in Vegas.

Went over to Cosmo to get our cards and see what was different. Played a little Plants Vs Zombies 3D and we got nothing. So we quit after $50 in. Tried to get a drink at the Chandelier Bar but it was slammed.

Getting ready now and will go downstairs and get a drink before heading to the Palms to have dinner at N9NE...

Panoramic picture of the room. [IMG]

    Ah the fountains!!!

Drink and food porn coming later!

    Damn right!!!

We got yelled at for having mini bottles on the plane and I pulled the "I did this last week with no issue on a United flight" and the flight attendant walked away. We didn't press it though.

Just got done with dinner at N9NE. Awesome!

So not a ton of gambling today. We've now been up for 24 hours. I don't sleep on planes so that's where I'm at.

Gaming wise we didn't do a ton but had fun. No bonuses, but the wife hit quads twice on JoB machines tonight ($0.25)

N9NE @ Palms was awesome. We did the Happy Hour and saved $30 on two cocktails, lobster bisque and rock shrimp/calamari alone.

    Cocktails:

    Lobster Bisque
    [IMG]

    Calamari and Rock Shrimp
    [IMG]

That set us back $41. Not bad for that type of stuff.

So as we were eating and drinking, the guy at the bar next to me got this HUGE piece of prime rib. He said he couldn't eat it all and shared some with me and another couple on the other side of him. It was awesome.

So I ordered that for dinner.

The wife got the 7oz filet oscar

We were able to use our LVA coupon with no issues.

We headed up to Ghostbar to see the strip and get a few drinks.

Tomorrow we will check out some spots for our June trip and gamble more.

That's good to hear! But if they happened to be at PHo (or most CET) bartops, I suggest Bonus (96.18%) instead, exact same paytable as 6/5 JoB (95.00%), but all four of a kinds pay 25 coins more at max bet!

Good luck the rest of the way!

Let me preface this statement by saying that I grew up in Nebraska and Iowa and know what good beef is. I have an uncle who owns his own butcher shop and two other uncles that are cattle ranchers.

Best prime rib I've ever had in my life. They said it was going to be more medium than mid-rare. It was more towards mid-rare. The putter crust was just outstanding. It was fatty in spots but that's expected. It was definitely in the top three steaks I've ever had. It is a special and not on the menu all the time. It used to be, but isn't anymore.

I forgot to take a picture of the Yukon gold gnocchi. We had it with the truffle cream sauce. OH MY GOD. Pillows of heaven. Get it!!!

Planet Hollywood for Breakfast. No wait and used the LVA coupon. Not bad, but we were still full from dinner last night.

Off for a little shopping and wandering around various casinos.

Ok I gotta know more about that prime rib. I am always on the lookout for a better steak than I can get at home as well, I run a butcher shop and have only had a few steaks in my life as good as I can have at home. What was the price tag on that bad boy? And how many ounces was it? I will be in Vegas sometime in the next month and I now know where I will be eating thanks
