We will be arriving for 5 nights on Thursday but thanks to a flight change we will not land until 10:30 P.M
By the time we get to the hotel and check in I'm guessing it will be close to midnight, should I wait till later in the night to start gambling or just start right away? I am comped for 2 nights-----Friday and NYE so I will be paying for Thursday night anyhow but I thought I would see what peoples opinion are of the start of a gambling day at M-Life properties.

Mlife uses your "trip" or "multi day visit" to calculate theo. CET uses each individual day.

    So, gamble away!

What time does the gambling day reset at MGM props in Vegas?

I know CET is 6 am.

I believe it's 3am. Last time I was at MB I had a gambling session from around 1 am to about 5 am, then went to bed. Around 10 am the pit boss was still there and I asked about my rating from that session he said $200 for 2 hours. I said that can't be right I played to till about 5am. He went back to the computer and said you're right. The computer logged you out at 3 am and I logged you back in till around 5. When I asked why it logged me out he said the system resets at 3am.

If you read my earlier post - it does not matter at Mlife.

OH WOW - So average daily doesn't matter at MGM properties. I always avoid gambling during our last day because we are usually out of the casino by 10AM, and don't get much in that day. So it truly doesn't matter? There isn't the classic average daily spend/average daily coin in for MLife properties??

Yes I read that. I was just curious what time it resets. I'm a CET player and do plan my gambling days around the 6 am reset.

I guess what I am saying is there is not a daily reset like CET - so you do not have to plan your gambling days around that.

I'd rather not plan my days around the 6am reset (I'm in Ohio and have spent 21 nts in Vegas at CET props this year). I usually get up around 4am and either start playing or wait if I already hit a bonus level that day. It's kinda fun keeping track to a weird degree lol.

It doesn't matter whether you play or don't play on your arrival night.

What matters is how much you play in total while you're at the hotel, and how many days/nights the casino uses to figure out your average. For places that count your checkout day if you play on it, then the daily cutoff/reset time could come into play.

But to simplify your example where you're arriving late on Thursday. Say on a normal night you'd do $1,000 coin in on slots for a total of $5,000 over the 5 nights. Doing only $200 on Thursday night won't hurt you as long as you do $4,800 over the remaining 4 nights.

I usually finish my stays with 6 or 7 nights at a CET property; when I first started doing that, I played around the same amount every night. Now I front load my play during the first 3 nights or so (to max out the daily tier bonuses) and do little or no play the rest. It hasn't affected the offers I get.

+1 for this. I used to avoid gambling on late arrival / early checkout days but in the end, it's all averages. Realistically, when you check in to your hotel, it triggers a gambling day there. So if you don't play, it hurts you more than it does. But in the end, it's how much you spend per trip, not per day. The only thing you need to worry about is CET daily bonus'

Yeah, when talking about check out day, I should have added that every place (as far as I know) counts check IN day, whether you play or not. It's still OK to play little or nothing on that night (or any other night), as long as you spread your total normal trip play across the nights you DO play.
