I figure since I won't be venturing too far from the strip (staying at Bally's) a rental car made no sense for three days. Got a couple questions though.

-Is the Hard Rock walkable from Bally's or am I better off taking an Uber/Lyft? I'll be spending a lot of time there due to AEE.

-Longshot but are there any shuttles from Bally's to the Hard Rock Casino area?

-Anyone have a rough estimate of cost for an Uber/Lyft from Bally's to downtown?

    Thanks!

Free bus from Bally's to Rio every half hour. Picks up on the side of Bally's and at the Back of the Rio

I walked to Hard Rock from Flamingo this past May...I won't lie to you, it is a good walk. Probably 30 min? There is not much on the way, mostly open lots. I probably would not do it after dark.

I've walked from Bally's to Hard Rock but it's not something you'd want to do everyday. Better off using Uber/Lyft

No shuttles I'm aware of between Bally's and Hard Rock

We had excellent results using Uber in Vegas last October.

yes, this. Rio is on the complete opposite side of LV Blvd than HRH

    Just got back from Vegas.
There are people all over in front of Bally's handing out little pink LYFT cards with a promo code for new users.
$5 off your first ride 10 Rides.

    I used it 6 times.

The LYFT line which means you could possibly get hooked up with other travellers is the cheapest.
You get a discount for using the Line.
They charge you an extra $1 for an extra passenger.
Not once did we get hooked up with other passengers.

    For example:
    Aria to Rio $6.00 - $5.00 Credit = $1 plus tip
    Orleans to Aria - $9.00 - $5.00 Credit = $4.00 which included a $3 tip
    Aria to Bally's - $8.00 - $5 Credit = $3.00 which included a $2 tip
    Ellis Island to Aria - $8.00 - $5 Credit = $3.00 which included a $2 tip
    Aria to Fremont - $11.00 - $5 Credit = $6.23 plus tip.

If you are going back and forth from the Hard Rock from Bally's I would give those 10 Lyft rides a try. It's cheap transportation and they are there really fast.
The Bally's pick up is the side door by the check in.

Everything is within walking distance if you really like to walk! :)

Seriously, I've walked from MGM Grand to Hard Rock, and probably would not do it again, or at least pay attention to any Bad Hair Day advisories. :)

    Shalom! :)

It is technically walkable from Bally's to HRH, but I would recommend Uber/Lyft. The speed and convenience will be worth it.

Yea, walk or Uber it. No biggie. If you were to stay at P-Ho, the walk would be a bit shorter.

30 minutes at most to walk it.
Less than half of that if you used Lyft/Uber.
Bally's to downtown should be around $15/16 -ish on Lyft.
Lyft is cheaper than using SDX bus from Paris if there's more than 1 passenger.

If you've never used Lyft before - you can download it at the airport and get $5 off your first 10 rides ($50 total savings). I'd do that and see how you like it. You should be able to get around anywhere for a handful of bucks or less.

We used to rent a car and then stopped. I think you might find it actually liberating. You eliminate the constant decision making - "Should we take the car or not?"

Just walk, cab or Uber it. It changes the "mood" of a Vegas trip.

(of course, those that hit other casinos and parts of town would not agree and I get that)

Darn, I've used Lyft only once in my life and that was in AZ last year. Never used Uber, although I downloaded the app. Lyft always sends me promo codes but I never use or need them. I have them now until the end of the month. I wonder if they'll see I'm in Vegas by my location and send me more promo codes next month.

I understand where you're coming from. This will be my first trip with no car and my first attempt at table games. I'm stepping in the deep end lol!

If you like to walk for fitness it is fine, as long as you are not lugging anything. perhaps do that and Uber on the way back.
