Ok so here i was at a local casino. This time it was buffalo grand. Earlier in the day i put in $850 in one. Cashed out $550. Then $400, cashed out$500.

Well after 11pm. I sit down at another buffalo grand. $3.75 max bet. Omg hundred after hundred. Less than 45 minutes. I was at $1100 in the machine. I go to put in my last hundred i had on me. The stacker box was full!!!

I got a staff member to come by. Ohh they have to empty the machine. They usually do that in the middle of the night. So i explained my situation. She took my player card. The supervisor agreed to get security and staff to pull the box. Which was nice of them. They know i do play a lot.

While i was waiting don't think i didn't call gaming again.(called once before) I felt like there definitely something crooked going on. The guy says they will send someone out.

They emptied the stacker box on the machine.
So now I'm on $1200. Goes quick. Stlll no bonus. Had someone watch my machine while i hit the atm. Took out $500

Went back to machine. Another $100 nothing. Then another $100. Well low and behold. Now at $1400 machine finally gave a first bonus. But it took one more hundred and finally woke up somewhat.

Got a few bonuses. Nothing great. Than a $450 hit. Another bonus paid around $300. Then i start betting 75 cents for a little. Nada. I go back to $3.75. Another bonus. Well as this bonus playing the lady from gaming shows up. It was a long bonus. Got me close to $980. So I'm like i will cash out so u can check the machine. She like don't cash out on my account. Cash out when u feel comfortable. Well i guess i shouldn't have played this machine to begin with. :)

I had a conversation about what was going on with the nice lady from gaming about it. She said I'll defiantly shut down the machine. Look at it. Then something about another person coming out to do some type of test.

Well i did see the machine shut down for awhile. Went on back. Someone was playing it. I told the gentleman playing what i did. He seemed very appreciative that i called. He plays the buffalo grand at this casino all the time. He says they are very tight. He overheard the lady telling a supervisor that she was happy with the way the machine was working. Hence the opening back up of the machine.

The one guy put $300 in he said. Didn't pay anything. Soo i would off and on go by that machine and see what was going on. I saw 2 $400 bonuses on max bet. So once again i guess all is good as lady said with the machine.

I just feel that something wasn't right with it. $1400, till one bonus come on.

Then i remembered a guy who i saw play top dollar, 5 line, 5 hundred a spin. $12,000 i less than 20 minutes gone. I guess i shouldn't be so suspect with $1400 till first bonus.

Sorry so long. Wanted to share and vent a little.

Fyi I've been gambling a little over 21 years. Maybe it's just me and I'm burned out on it.

    Thanks for reading.

So......you played a negative expectation game and lost money? These swings happen. Did you ever sit down to a machine, and win right off the bat?

I'm really sorry...I don't want to be an ass...but do you really play a lot? The fact that you don't seem to have any concept of variance leads me to believe otherwise. The two threads of yours that I've read seem to be instances that are uncommon, but far from remarkable. I think any of us who've spent a fair amount of time at the tables/machines have experienced countless situations like you've described.

No one's out to get you. "Bad luck" happens on occasion.

Rush- Yes lose money. However $1400 till one bonus shows up. Very suspect to me.

Put in money and just hit. Well a little win. 2 years ago i hit $8144 with a $400 investment. Usually i just feed the machines. One lady played buffalo deluxe, the other night. She put in a $20. Had it up to a little over a thousand in no time.

The carve- Your not being an ass at all. Oh yes i do play a lot. Now for a lot of people this might not seem like much. But since 2008 my loss over $90,000 total. If i offset my w 2 gs with it. Still minus in the $60,000 range.

Yes some days better than others. It's definitely luck. However i do watch people play. Bonus should have come up much more on this game in my experience.

Bad luck maybe. Lately i feel the machines are cheating customers.

It shouldn't be suspect to you. You are playing a game that is designed to take your money. You can play for a long time without hitting a bonus, as almost every slot player knows. You can also catch three or four in a half hour. It happens. You fall for the same trap that many other problem gamblers do........You think the machine is "due", and keep chasing. Sorry it goes so bad for you.

I only have one question. Is the coffee better there than 7/11?

I often play the machines outside of the snack bar at our casino. They are the ones with a small progressive (max $50) and a higher progressive (max $500). At our casino you can tap the Stats button & view when the last bonus was etc. I have seen that number be well over 900 & one time over 1100 spins since the last bonus. The other night I was after a progressive at $479 (remember max of $500) and it was over 700 spins before a bonus hit. (I did manage to get the progressive at $486 which put me up $300 for the night). And the really funny part about the 'stats' is that sometimes when it gets dry the counter will no longer increment up when you view the stats. It was stuck on spin 307 in the stats the other night. (It's pretty easy to figure it out even when the stats won't update with a .40 bet that equates to 25 spins per point at our 1 point/$10 thru casino - just calculate it against points earned). So even at $1400 with a lot of it at max bet you likely didn't hit 900 or 1100 spins before that bonus.

    And therein is the hook.

When I first started playing "serious" video poker, the very first weekend I hit two royals; the second of which was dealt...
It's what makes us loyal to the casino scheme forever.

For someone "playing a lot" and max betting penny slots, -$60k since 2008 is probably an above average result. My mother was a loyal CET diamond (minimum $55k coin-in under the old rules) at harrahs in St. Louis until they left town. She was not a "high diamond" either many years. She consistently lost at least $7500 per year. One year it was closer to $25,000.

Penny slots are designed in such a way where the odds of being in black for the year for "regular" players are near zero.

Do you mind if i ask what casino or even what state?

Minimum payback in NV is 75%, many other states are 80 or 85%, and many NA casinos are completely outside any minimums. I'm sure these newer machines can be set ridiculously low and maybe you're on one. Emptying the stacker box twice a day might be clue

UPDATE.... Well today i was at it again. I guess these machines don't like max bet. I put $580 in one. Cashed out almost $800. But then went downhill later in the day. This time 3 bonus with a little over $1000 in. Lost the $1000 plus.

Meanwhile all these people hitting on little bets. One guy betting 75 cents. He hits the super jackpot times 3. Over $1800. While ive been playing these machines. This is the 3rd time someone has hit super jackpot. 2 were betting 75 cents. One bet $1.50. These all have been taxable.

Well I'm pretty much done playing this month. Up and down. Almost down to $100 one night from my bankroll of $1700. Then back to $2100. Down to $600. Now all out. That's how gambling goes i know. Here the thing. I guess these machines do eventually give a huge jackpot they need to take in a lot. I just wish it wasn't taking mine all the time. I love to play. Enjoy it. But when u get no play. I'm still suspect. That $1000 gone in less than an hour today.

    Ok my rant over. Lol.

Rush- it so does seem suspect. All these times i feed the machine as others are hitting. Come on!! It's like surveillance watching me, and turned off any pays. Like today. Nothing good outta over $1000.

Yes i do chase my money which is awful i know. But sometimes it comes back just like that.

Thanks for the kind words that sorry it goes bad.

Jgates8- i have seen and played the machines you are talking about. The thing with these is there are 2 types of em. One where the jackpot goes up as u bet. But there are so many others where the major and mini jackpots go up only when u win. Omg this takes forever for them to go up.

For instance one time i hit a $750 pay. It only went up a few dollars!! So while in one respect u could say it's paying out since jackpot so high. On the other thousands upon thousands it has in it to get the jackpot. I've hit the major on that only twice. Once it was at $492something. So i sat down. Of course i put close to $900 for it to finally hit at $499 something. The next time it was only $330 some and hit fast.

Oh yes I've checked the stats on those machines before. The thing is someone could have been betting 1 line 1 cent i think. It would still show up in stats for how many spins. Unless your has a minimum bet of 40 or something.

Still so many spins without a bonus happens yes. So ridiculous i say. The day i put $1400 till bonus. First hundred was 75 cent bet. Then i went to max. So nowhere near the 1100 spins.

As i was pointing out in my post today. All these machines hitting around me. Mine the only one not. Happens so often lately.

Timhook- oh yes that $8100 was a good hit. But only two years ago October. I've been playing since i turned 21. That's 21 years ago.

I've played my video poker as well. I kinda thought the pays were supposed to be better. Do u know one night i actually put in $800 on a double double poker quarter before hitting a 4 of a kind. It was a ten bet single. Since then i haven't touched vp much at all.

Over the years i have had 2 $1 royals. And one $5 royal. But my sorry self was only betting one!!!I was down to my last hundred for the day. I was happy though. As this was years ago. I just didn't have these big losses like now
