    wow, shame on Plaza.

i actually think i have 2 players card from them - they gave me an extra one so my bf could play with it so this made it more confusing....

and to be honest, i can see their perspective of looking out for scammers but i would think that if they saw where you guys were from, i cant see someone getting a plane ticket, going to another country just so they can "scam" a casino promotion for freeplay - money you cant even cash out.

really hope someone from Plaza will see this and reach out to you to apologies....

Woiw. This is not about having extra cards (I am sure most of have had them). I always have a few from losing and then finding. And not about someone playing on their card for points which are peanuts. It is not about someone using a $50 or so free play. It is a $500 max FP credit with loss. And if all true, I am sure they could have treated them better. Perhaps if they were staying there, it might have been treated differently. BUT, he did play her one time promo on her card, without her present. I would really like to hear their side and see how many times this has been tried before and how much extra scrutiny is used on this promo. This example is one reason many good promos disappear. Could have been worse. In old days you might of been in the desert buried, if they even thought you were trying to get over on them.

Plaza has some major issues. The mailer says offer may be used multiple times. I called to make reservation on one of the quietest weeks in December.

Clerk says something like. I have to see if you met or exceeded your historical level of play. Uhhh no where on the mailer does it say this. Of course she comes back with a firm no!! The is no way I'm losing $3000 plus there again like i did in the past.

That means to get same offer i have to lose that much again. Or basically earn as many points. Clerk says yes. No way in hell. The machines just take take with no play whatsoever

Treatment was over the top - really - security to escort you out just in case...? Come on Plaza!!! I see their issue since it's a promo but the treatment of their guests is poor - I myself will not go back to the plaza with all these negative experiences and reviews - there are so many other places to take your money where you are treated with respect and dignity.

There is a host that reads our board from time to time, let's hope that he can get back to us with a response. I think the strong arm threats about security escorting you out is uncalled for and really shows they type of class that the Plaza management has for people who step into their casino.

With all the competition downtown, The Plaza should be blowing you for service.

Keep in mind the plaza has only one ticket redemption machine, one, which they grudgingly put in after complaints, they don't want anyone to win and if they do they make it hard for you. You are right, it is management, they simply do not understand the casino business.

I'm not a Plaza apologist but I sure would like to hear the other side of this story.

Moral of the story seems to be don't use a wife or girlfriend's card for comps, no matter how young, cute, laid back or classy she is.

could Plaza have been more gracious? of course. but i'm not outraged. I had no problems with how I was treated at Plaza, perhaps because i only had one card to use, my own.

You missed the point here. The issue was over the $500 promotion. This is way different than playing on the same card. It was a promotion.

Again, they said they saw him on camera doing wrong. Wouldn't it have been a more positive experience to simply say "excuse me sir, we have noticed...." at the time?
Don't ask me why but my wife has pants with little unforgiving pockets. I carry her license and players card. She carries $ & phone. It would be easy to inadvertently put her card in and play aimlessly waiting on another beer. But I agree with others. Plaza could have had win-win with a little professional courtesy.

Either way the OP's gf has to be there to activate the freeplay after the initial $500 is lost so I don't see what the big deal is. If the promo is so good that the casino has to supervise everyone that is taking advantage of it then they should probably rethink the offer or add another hoop to jump through.

The point of promotions is to get new customers in who otherwise wouldn't be visiting your establishment. Almost any promo will result in a percentage of customers that takes advantage of the promo then splits, whether that's a freeplay/matchplay hit and run and that's just a part of the game that they are fully aware of. This type of promo guarantees you're at least going to be there a couple days because there are time constraints on when the freeplay becomes available, which is a win for the casino to begin with as a lot of people planning on coming back won't make it, while others will come back and even though they're there for the freeplay they'll end up playing a little longer and throwing more of their money in.

Apparently they have a double standard. They don't care if you play on another's card as long as you're losing money!

    To OP:
First of all, you made a big mistake, I hope you have learned since.
BTW, the mistake was not playing on your GF's card or trying to "gaming" the promotion.
Your mistake was to step into Plaza in the first place. That mistake was bigger than anything else.

Second, you didn't miss much by not getting the $500 free play.
In practice, it worth pretty much close to 0, just another half hour of playing time on those dirty machines.
You are way better off by spending that half hour doing something else (such as people watching on the Strip) than playing at Plaza.

Pretty hard to inadvertently play on someone else card unless you don't look down to make sure you don't get the "please reinsert" message that comes up many times. Name scrolls with points. I always look. But, as said before, playing on another card was not the problem, Playing on it for her promotion was.

Your English is fine -- and as others have stated better than many who were born and educated here. They treated you like crap pure and simple. In April we stayed at TI and my if my husband earned so many points he got either $25 or $50 free play. We both played on his card - at the same time (we have two cards a piece). Had no problems redeeming his free play. -- Now I know it was totally a different promotion than the $500 from the Plaza. Shaming you with the threat of a security marching you out was over the top.

But their loss - plenty of other casinos want your money.
