I can honestly say I have never stayed in a hotel where there was a robe available. I would probably touch it just to see what all the fuss is about.

Is that when you mutate into a big cat and then your paws fall off?

I would find it hard to believe that the robes would NOT be clean( unless ya were at a real dicey joint and then they probably wouldn't be offered in the 1st place.. That said ...why not.... Be a little SWANKY!!!

A couple weeks ago I spent two nights at the MGM Grand. Well..
On the second night my toes found a single black sock. Not mine! . Sheets weren't changed after the last guest, nor after my first night
    Yuck!!!

Ok, this thread took a wild turn.
Now I am won't wear the robe, drink coffee or now probably not even sleep in the bed.
Looks like the tub is my new bed.

Remember the old days when they put those paper bands across the toilet seats that said it had been "sanitized"? Also, the drinking glasses had similar "protection". Boy, were we naive!

In answer to the OP's question, YES, I use the robe when I am staying at Encore Tower Suites. It has been a while since I have stayed in any other Vegas hotel that has had them. I am a germaphobe -- I wipe down the phones and tv remotes and door handles, etc. with Clorox wipes before unpacking -- but I don't hesitate to use the robe, which I find luxurious when I am on vacation as I typically don't wear one at home. I would think they would have to wash the robes between guests, even if they look "unused" at check out.

I live in my terrycloth robe at home...given to me complimentary by Caesars-AC. Very nice robe. Actually, I have 4 of them and have given 4 of them away as gifts. They keep me warm when I'm hanging out in my house. In Las Vegas I just don't hang around the room and so rarely use the robes. This past trip I did use the robe at Red Rock....OH, sooo soft!!
But, (to the OP), if you take them they DO charge you for them...and they're not cheap.

Same with you, I find it luxurious when staying at Encore suites. Earlier this year, we stayed there with my son who had his own room. When I asked him if he enjoyed the soft and comfy robe, he replied "Gross mom, they probably don't even wash them between guests!" No way did the thought of wearing it ever cross his mind, he was convinced they were left in the rooms weeks on end. I told him he was being foolish. It is the Wynn after all.

On the day we checked out, we passed the housekeeping cart in the hallway so I couldn't resist pointing out that the cart had about 8 fresh robes hanging off a tall side rail.

He missed out on a good thing. Encore has really nice robes!

One of the robes in my room had skid marks on it.

I am a minor germaphobe but yes I use the robes. Do you sit in the chairs? You can't put a chair in a washing machine and it's seen bare ass, I am sure.

Nothing like a good litter box about the abode and Fido giving himself a nice cleaning before that smooch.

Yes I do, and I love it! :D I'm more worried about making sure the sheets have been cleaned and check them every time. (And I strip the bed on checkout.) As a teenager I worked as a maid in a hotel, I always did a thorough job, but not everyone did.

I also hate, hate, hate when they use a comforter versus the sheeting method. Those things are NEVER cleaned.

On robes, it depends on the place, if Motel 6 offered robes, no way in someplace hot.

A final thought, if you think robes are scary, what about the buttons on the slot machines?????

    P.S.

Great Electro, thanks so much. I always do inspect the robes, but I think I am always going to remember your post now when I look at a robe...

I like the idea of using the robe, but I'm a heater so I usually find them too warm and prefer to traipse around the room in my underpants.
My wife will use them if they are there.
I sometimes use them in the spa as a courtesy to others but again usually feel too hot in them.
