Twenty years ago we were told very much not to go in the areas west of Stratosphere , looks like Lucky Dragon borders the same area. Anyone know if the area has become more tourist-friendly?

Correctly me if I'm wrong, but aren't they building a massive casino hotel called "Resorts World" that is going to be Chinese themed right next to Circus Circus that will have 7000 room, a panda exhibit, aquarium, and other "Asian theme" stuff? Does anyone have an update on that because with such a massive resort being constructed how would it make sense (finicially) to create a mini one that is specifically targeting the Asian theme on the less foot trafficked area off the Strip.

I think the entire North end of the strip past the Wynn is just scary now...

Arriving 12/4 so will have to check this place out especially given my fondness for asian foods, one would think there will be giveaways galore the first week or so on the casino floor

Every new hotel gets away with charging at a premium at first. The prices will come down to earth pretty soon.

Interesting. Hope they don't run it like casinos in Asia/Macau I've been to- 99% of games are Baccarat, the single BJ table in the corner has 500HKD (~65 USD) minimum, then all they serve is water. Pay for alcohol. I don't know how the published room rates will fly in that location but it may for the non-english speaking chinese visitor oblivious about Vegas and the comp system. They'll probably be promoting in mainland now that direct flights are coming.

Is that the "hard opening", or the "soft" opening?

I hope to see Sic Bo and Fan Tan. Not so much that I think they are great games- just something new.

Re sic bo- I swear I saw it all over the place my first trip in 86,that and tile games..I played it at the Borgata in AC,maybe they still have the table open..Gold Coast gave an electronic version a shot for awhile, but one payout was a huge disparity from a table game, somthing to do with trips...
Cool game though, good fun with other players and dealer..House edge pretty big I'm sure like Roulette.

    4 restaurants and no buffet?

I don't think the Borgata has that any more, but Caesars AC has Sic Bo.
