I got my comp tickets to Steven Wright at Orleans, now I'm trying to figure out how much my "free" tickets are going to cost me.

I looked up cab fare and it says $36 each way from MSS to Orleans, plus tip.

If we took the WAX to Trop, which bus do I take to Orleans? I'm guessing since it's WAX there is no transfer slip available and I have to buy another ticket for the 2nd bus? How much? Where would I catch it? Next to NYNY?
    Thanks,

Uber is your good friend in this situation unless you want to sit on a bus 30 Minutes each way, prob $35 RT in a clean fast vehicle

Joe you will hate it. You take the bus from California to Sam's Town then to Harrah's and then a smaller bus to Gold Coast / Orleans. I do it because I go for many many days and have many hours to "waste" riding with the homies. You can get the shuttle schedule for the large buses (from Cal to ST to Harrah's) on ST website or just google ST shuttle bus schedule. Uber / Lyft are options but I don't use them just because it is one more opportunity to hack my cc which is more paranoia than reality I suppose.
The route is good for getting from either GC or Orleans to MSS without having a specific time to be somewhere in a tight timeframe. I just find it ultra-low-roller behavior. And again, I have the time to "waste" due to length of stay.

Joe--- Cheap way: An $8 24hr pass. Take the WAX from Binion's Casino Center stop to the Tropicana stop. Takes 30-35 minutes on average. I've had an only 20-minute trip occasionally(depending on time of day, traffic and number of people getting on and off, obviously). Then it's a 10 minute walk to the 201 Westbound stop at NY-NY. Then a 10 minute ride West on Tropicana to Orleans. Reverse the process going back.

Really cheap way (which I've done many times): $2 for the WAX, same two stops as above. But walk up The Strip (or Koval- a LONG block East) to the base of the High Roller on Linq Pl. and take the free shuttle to The Orleans via Gold Coast. Again, reverse the process going back, but add $2 for the WAX and get on at the same NY-NY stop as above. Do this if it's not too time-critical; the walk up the Strip could take an hour each way, while walking via Koval takes 20-25 minutes each way.

Boyds shuttle to GC is at Linq high roller. So you would have to walk from ST stop at Harrahs to high roller. Or take Rio shuttle from Harrahs and walk from Rio to GC

Lyft is the only way to go. We used it for the first time this year price is reasonable and quick

I've "done" the WAX and 201 to/from the Orleans many times. However, I simply purchase a 2-hour pass for $1.50 (with the reduced fare card) onboard. Besides, my stays at the Orleans are for at least for 2 nights.

I used Uber for the first time in August and again in September, which is good enough reason to have a smartphone! I'll be changing hotels from MSS to Gold Coast next week and haven't decided if I'll use Uber directly to GC or take the WAX to the Trop and maybe Uber from there. There probably isn't enough of a cost savings to bother with the bus, however. And unless the bridge between the Trop and Excalibur has reopened, you have to get to the NYNY stop via MGM, which is a slightly bigger pain.

You can take the Deuce or the SDX to Tropicana. Just walk down Tropicana to the right about 50 feet and you will see the bus stop for the 201 (or 202 - one runs up flamingo and the other one does Tropicana). The stop is between Excalibur and NYNY on the NYNY side. That will bring you straight to the Orleans. Two buses so you will need to pay two fares or use a day pass.

Blonde_4_ever seemed to be able to use Uber just using her ipad and free wifi from the hotels/casinos, if you have an ipad or tablet that may be an option?

My wife has a tablet, but we have to buy wifi ($10) at MSS and it only works in the room. Don't you need to communicate with the Uber driver once you have ordered it? My charge card company is offering a free, first time Uber credit of $30 but I'm not sure how the pickup process works. If we ordered in the room, just go downstairs and wait?

Now lets examine this. I can but a smart phone for $30 you say, but everything I see is hundreds and then don't I have to buy a phone service and pay for data, internet access etc.

Right now my flip phone costs me $8 per month and 18 cents per minute. The cost rolls over every month if I don't use minutes, so current balance is $212 in minute credits. I don't text and don't Internet on my phone. I use it to make phone calls.

You know if my catalytic converter didn't catch on fire on the way home from work one night about 20 years ago, I still might not have a phone. But now, it stays in the car unless we are traveling and I have two hands free at all times. Yes, I even wear a wristwatch.

Well I checked and you are correct. $30 per month unlimited, but it is a Samsung that they are having all the battery troubles with.

That's just the Samsung Note 7. I have the Samsung Galaxy S7 and no explosions have been reported on these.

I am pretty taxi savvy in Vegas, but I rode in one Uber and several Lyfts on my last trip and I'm converted.

    Joe--
You could also take wax to tropicana stop and take a cab from there (looks like a 1.5-2 mile trek) and reverse to NYNY stop for return. I figure 10$ each way? let us know if smartphone is the way to go. others ofnyour ilk could also make the move. ha
