Absinthe moving to Cosmopolitan.

It was just officially announced by The Gazillionaire that Absinthe will be moving to the ballroom next to Rose Rabit Lie by the end of the year. Will be closing at Caesars on Oct 21. Announcement says it will be a new show...

 

They would be foolish to mess with it too much. It's one of the top shows in terms of ticket sales/revenue. Just by moving it from the tent will change it somewhat. I understand doing some updates to long running shows from time to time but if they overhaul it too much it would be a mistake IMHO.

Yeah I'm surprised they didn't somehow end up re-upping at Caesars, it's a perfect location, and I couldn't see them moving out of the tent or finding a good location for it. Ballroom seems weird, they can still do a center stage, but I've never looked in one to see how high the ceilings are.

 

Indeed - not only was the tent the perfect venue for the job, but it had a massive upside for the Casino as well in that it didn't take up valuable interior space.

Absinthe is in my top three favorite Vegas shows so I'll definitely see it at its now location at some point, but I am a little bit concerned about how it will translate to a more enclosed space. It used to be that there were no 'bad' seats in the house, which I suspect will no longer be the case.

 

cosmo had to offer a shit load of money as they dont have a 7 day a week show to bring in people and rember , the last show at cosmo vegas nocture they sued the old owners of cosmo and they are the owners of abstinthe.

 

My wife mentioned this to me.
We may actually try to see it this trip and charge it to our room to get it comped off at the end of our trip.
Won't be able to do this once they move to Cosmo as we tend to stay at CET properties.
