Just got a message from a friend in Vegas - it's 5.30am and they are starving, but no room service and they can't find anywhere open. Can you recommend anywhere on the strip that is open at this time?!
Hash House a Go Go at LINQ if you want a large meal for an affordable price. Also, the Fulton Street Food Hall inside of Harrahs which I read a lot of good things about...lots of variety. Dennys at Casino Royale is open 24/7 as well as White Castle.
Thanks guys. I found for them that the Henry at the Cosmopolitan was open 24 hours. They are staying in the Excalibur and found Schlotszky's. I'm sure it will do the job for them!
Anybody else notice that over the past few decades the places for all hours dining has decreased? Significantly I think.
I was happy to learn here on VMB that each casino has at least one place open during any 24 hour period, some have 24 hour places. Sometimes a challenge to find that one place if not familiar with a particular area. Agree!! Almost too much variety, lol, cause I can't make up my mind..but always good food round the clock.
I had beef Wellington at Grand Lux and it was really good! I was surprised as I usually just eat lighter foods there or breakfast.
But there used to be so many open. You used to have your choice of at least 2 places at most casinos. Unless you travel you don't have much choice anymore.
You are right Bo. I do remember in our early Vegas days when we rented a car each trip looking forward to finding those off strip places late at night like Binions, Hard Rock, Gold Coast, etc that had midnight specials for around $5 for steaks or breakfast specials around $3 that were really good! We used to pick up those advertising booklets free in racks near every corner and studying them to find bargains usually downtown. We hardly played there, we'd just drive downtown, park, find a place with a midnight special, eat, walk through the casino and head back to the strip - fun times! We were never real successful finding those kinds of places on the strip where we stayed - and didn't know how to find them - now if VMB had been around or had we discovered VMB sooner, we'd have tried a lot more places! We still love playing late, grabbing a bite in the middle of the night before heading to the room. Actually, I eat, DH has dessert or beverage! Now depending where we are staying we generally do Grand Lux, The Pantry, The Henry, Bellagio Cafe, etc - rarely rent a car anymore. BTW - we are from Austin
