Just wondering what acceptable host response times are for everyone? I emailed my host 4 days ago and no reply yet... Sure it might not seem like a long time but this is also a new host to me who forgot to add my freeplay (until I reminded him) to my card until the last day of my recent trip. So far, not impressed.
Doesn't sound very good. Only thing I'll say about emailing hosts is, I find out when their days off are. Unless I'm on the property, if I have a question or need them to do something with a reservation, I try to have it hit their Inbox on their "Tuesday morning." So if the host has Monday and Tuesday off, Wednesday is their Monday and they're playing catchup. So I send the email Thursday morning. I'm East Coast, so it should be the first thing in their Inbox when they get in.
You have a bad host, switch pronto. Contact another one. Ask for referrals here and you will get them. This is unacceptable.
How does getting a new host work? Would I just email the new host and say I wasn't happy with my previous host? How would I go about doing that?
You may want to give this host another day or 2 or shoot him another reminder email;. He may have been busy with clients who were in town during Memorial Day weekend. Any other time and I think 4 days is way too long to not get a reply.
My host is off Sunday/Monday and if you look at his Facebook page he seems to be on a lot of adventures. We know worst case is to wait a week although usually it may be 2-4 days. If no response after a week, we send a 2nd e-mail which usually does the trick. We understand we aren't whales and he is probably chasing down much bigger fish who are actually affecting their bottom line.
What hotel is this for? Hosts at some hotels are better than others, plus you have turnover of hosts at different properties (especially the Plaza downtown) that it is possible that things may be going on for the host to be busy. The other thing is that it depends on what kind of player you are, if you are a lower roller then you may not get as much support from a host while if you are a bigger player you may get carte blanche with things.
MGM, I am platinum. I accumulated 252k tier credits over my last 3 day trip with 66k coin in. Not sure what level of play that is considered. Middle tier? Apparently my previous host just left, so they assigned me a new one. My old host would leave me chocolate covered strawberries and things in my room, but this host did not. As I mentioned, he forgot my freeplay until I emailed him and asked and it took him over 24 hours to respond as well. Maybe I'm just being picky?
Agree - after 4 days, send a followup. I get a response within 48 hours. I'm lucky enough to have two hosts (different properties) who use 'OOO' notification which notes the date she will be back in the office or a number for an associate whom I can contact if it can't wait til she returns. I've never asked for a new host so I don't know what the procedure is.
Chances are the guy is overwhelmed. Send him a follow up and ask for a response within a defined time. If that does not solicit a response. Send an email that says in effect. "Since my play play is not enough for you to bother with can you suggest another host that may be more accommodating to my level of play?"
Some hosts are better than others. The better hosts will give you a little "extra" when it comes to service and are on top of everything. Could be that this host is new or they assigned you to a rookie host so it is up to you if you want to change hosts. Next time you visit you may want to hook up with the host to see if he/she is for you and if not then you can talk to other hosts to find the one you want.
Try texting for quicker response. Casinos are like any other corporation where there are a million people cc'd on every internal email and then there are players emails on top of that. It can get overwhelming for an on-property host and sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. A second email as others suggested will usually spark the "oh yeah I need to do that" and you'll get a quick response.
