Superstitious gamblers can tip whoever they want. Its no more wasteful than playing the game in the first place.

It's all relative ,10K to him is like a 5 dollar bill to me when I play bj ,does the "good luck charm" provide him with any other services?

Out of line? No. He's your buddy. You should tell him what you think. But if he was a stranger yes, you would be out of line.

Did he tip the dealer when he left and if he did would that upset you?

If your attitude is, "whatever dude", then why did you rip him a new one?

So what did he say after you ripped him? It all depends on how good friends you are with him and how he takes criticism. If he got mad at you or didn't like what you told him then maybe you aren't as good friends as you think and you were out of line. If you are normally blunt with him and usually comment/rip him and he is still friends with you then maybe it was okay but usually his response determines whether you were out of line or not. I think you know whether you were out of line the minute he looked at you and responded to you.

But as others have said, it's his money, he can do whatever he wants with it. But most of us would divide his amounts by 1000 which means we bet $10, went down $250 and battled back and was up $100 so we gave the girl $10.

If he can make $10k bets then giving a "tip" of one hand isn't a large amount to him but many of us would want to be around when he passes out tips.

Thanks for the feedback. I wasn't with him. And no, I'm not jealous. Just was trying to look after him. I work at a casino and see many leeches here. And I rely on tips and was incredulous he would "tip" so much. It'd take me a couple years to make that in tips.
And yeah, we have a good relationship that we tell each other everything and say what we have to say then move on. I realize he's a grown man, but he's not a multimillionaire. Sure, she made for an unbelievable run with those cuts that grossed him nearly $350k in an hour. But $10k?
Oh. For those who asked, I think he said he tipped the dealer $2 or 3k.

I wouldn't have taken it. It's excessive and I've seen money ruin too many friendships. He's tossed me a few blacks at times and basically had to shove them in my pockets and push me away to go play roulette or VP or something.

Because we know the risk gambling. He just gave that away.

It was his biggest comeback, yes. And he's done it before. Like I said to someone else, "tipping" the cutter was the equivalent of tossing it in the trash to me. You lose it, OK, that's the risk associated with the wonderful world of gaming we all know and love.

Yeah, the $250k is a lot bigger problem to me than the $10k.

That makes sense. We went at it and he usually exchanged f/u with me as we do and went our ways. He's a dear friend and I don't want him taken advantage of.I don't know if she baited him on that number or what. But in the big picture, it's a small pittance for winning a king's ransom with the charm. But still. It's 10 friggin Gs.

I'm in the service industry at a casino. I live off tips. That would've been acceptable if he gave him 10k.
He tipped his dealer 2 or 3 grand i think.

Yes, it just GAVE it away.

That is still alot of money. If he lost that much, would anyone give him anything?

And, tipping the dealer $2-$3k for just doing his hourly job is crazy.

    I don't get it.
