I've been to Vegas twice as a 21 year old already, and likely will go twice in the next year as well. Once consistent theme of my gambling and general vegas-ing is all of the change I acquire. Not usually an easy way of keeping track of it, it usually ends up around $25 for me (I am a low roller as well, usually bring around $800 to gamble for 2 days. That will inevitably grow)

During my trip last week, I collected all of my change in a cup in my room. It ended up being around $30. The first day I came up with the idea to take that change, and put it into a high limit machine. Took my $30 spin at the Aria HL Room on a Top Dollar machine. Boom! $400!!!

I am making this thread in hopes that I can make this a thing for other VMBers!! This win was more fun than my $700 heater I went on the first night at the craps table, because the change we all collect is mostly an afterthought. Let me know if any of you decide to try it, and post your thoughts or results here!

nice idea. But, normally I have just enough change for the tip for house keeping. Maybe I can use all the $1/$5's I have left over.

When I first started going there were $2 tables (on the strip!) and I'd bring $300-$400 for a long weekend (that was a lot to me) . I always saved up my change between trips. It added up.

I found $800 to be enough for me the last trip. I came home with $300, went as high as $1600. I kept track and got 86 free drinks/beers, and played 35 hours on that money. I would say that's pretty cheap entertainment. I just love Vegas!!

My son just turned 21 and has no disposable income to speak of (in college and has a girlfriend, there goes his money). I'm taking him to Vegas for his first time this summer. It's been planned a long time, I told him to save up his change and he's been doing so, it will be interesting to see how much he has.

    Cool idea.

Personally, I avoid cashing in titos until the last day, partially because I do not like all the change. And when I do, I put them all into one machine and get one ticket out. Another way to eliminate small change is to put a tito into the older $1 or $5 machines. It often will just spit out a tito for the odd amounts as some of them can not keep track of the extra pennies, etc.

I understand the struggle. I am self employed and decided to skip college. Made a bet on myself and it's starting to pay off. The first few years were lean to say the least. Plenty to do in Vegas as a first timer without gambling, especially if you play. He can watch and learn from you(also getting free drinks), which might not be a bad thing. If I had any advice, especially as a first time low roller, it would be to wait until the last day or day before you leave to play. Scope some favorite machines or tables out. Oh and play craps downtown!!!! [emoji1303][emoji1303]

Nice, can't say I end up with that much loose change at the end of my trip, but if I ever do I will try this out! Another thing to consider: Ellis Island, which is just a short 10 minute walk off the strip from Bally's will take count your loose coins and give you 110% in freeplay. They also have some decent low-roller VP to play it on.

We have our last day high limit mason coin jar about half full for our fall trip. With our loonies and toonies it adds up fast!

I save my loose change at home. At minimum, I end up cashing in enough to cover CW and valet tips. The change I collect in Vegas comes back with me so I can restart my piggy bank.

If you are really change adverse, there is nothing stopping from cashing in your TITOs at the cashier and giving them enough change to round them up to a full dollar like we used to do in the coin bucket days. They don't want you to use the window but that doesn't mean you can't.

I do the same thing, I put a zip lock bag in my shaving kit and toss all the change in that. I save the change at home so why not keep doing the same thing.

Smart move there. I always end up putting it in a shoe and stuffing socks in it to keep it from spilling all over the inside of my suitcase. Usually never works.... I save change and $1 bills in an old firebox/safe at my house. Cash it in once a year or so...usually before a vegas trip or another vacation. Totally aside from the gambling bankroll, use it as spending money, for souvenirs, etc.

where do all of these coins come from? I cant think of a time where I had a bunch of change left over at the end of any day. I susually only cash in TITOs once per day though, and i guess I charge meals and stuff either to the room or a credit card. This founds fun...dammit

I cash in TITOs every time I leave the casino, so 4-5 times a day. Just the way I do it. And I pay cash for most things so I stick to my budget. You should try it, it's awesome!

See my post above about Ellis Island. Also if you have a bunch of small titos from one property you can feed them into the tito machine all at once and it will add it all up and cash out with one payment.
