    My Trip Report

So, after years of lurking (and occasional posting), I thought it was finally time to write a trip report. I will go into this with the intent of it being live, but we’ll see how this goes. Is it live, or is it Memorex? Guess we’ll find out over the next couple of days.
    To start, some introductions.

    The Players

Me: Your hero… anti-hero? Protagonist. We can agree on that. By day, “senior leadership” for a Fortune 100 financial institution (I could tell you, but I’d have to [STRIKE]kill you[/STRIKE] really hope that you didn’t tell my compliance department because I could get in trouble). A project manager, process owner, and control hawk for a sales organization selling investment products. What does all that mean?

“Senior Leadership”: we’re going to need you to work 60 hours a week, and travel 50 times a year. BTW: you’re salaried now
    “Project Manager”: hearding cats
“Process Owner”: This didn’t work, who do we blame?
“Control Hawk”: Hey, don’t do that!

Oregano: My buddie taking this trip with me. Hmm. I don’t like the name, even if it keeps a theme. Forget that.
[STRIKE]Oregano[/STRIKE]Zaphod Beeblebrox: okay, I love Douglas Adams, but that’s too long to type each time.
Ford: The degenerate formerly known as Oregano. Basically retired before 40, he worked for various tech companies for years. Now he buys thing and sells them on Amazon, travels a lot, goes to Vegas many times each year, plays a lot of poker, and generally does all of the things that I would do if I didn’t have any responsibilities. !@#$ Ford.

The Wife: A wonderful woman who has put up with me for 15 years. Not only does she let me go with just a friend to Vegas every year, she encourages it, despite the 50+times I have to travel every year. Of course, it could be that she’s just trying to get rid of me.

B: My 14 year old daughter, smart, funny, beautiful, creative, and polite. A wonderful young woman, who scares the ever living !@#$ out of me just by being 14.

The Bankroll: What I hope to grow. No dollar amounts will be mentioned, but I’ll try to keep track of %s instead
    Bankroll 2: a back-up
    Bankroll 3: a back-up to a back up
    Bankroll 4: the mortgage
Bankroll 5: “Hey buddy, can you spare a dollar?”

More to come as the trip goes on. I land in Vegas at 6:45 local time, but have a long flight, so will probably add some more as I progress.

Made it to philly with plenty of time to my next flight. I'm now in front of the terminal chain smoking, pretending that if I smoke enough now I won't be dying for a cigarette 3 hours into the next flight. I really need to quit

1st class with miles for both legs out. So let's get this started right.

The intro alone leads me to believe that this is going to be an interesting one to watch! Hope you have a great time and don't leave out details. I like knowing where people went to grab a bite so I can visit the good spots. These TR reports have me wanting to book my second Vegas trip.

    A quick haiku

    Now it's boarding time
    Crowd around the podium
    First class, coming through

Seriously? If you're boarding group four, let the other groups board first before you block access to the gate. You're not going to find overhead space anyway.

THANK YOU!!!! WTF is up with people in the lower priority tiers trying to hawk over the gate...let the people through. If you want priority boarding (in other words, if getting on first is important for you), you have the option of paying for it

Love the intro, thanks for sharing. I will be following along. Got a nice laugh from your comments since I actually work in Compliance for a large financial institution!
