Beware of some of the info in those links. The first of those links says the MGM pools are open year round, the second says its seasonal.
Based on past experience its seasonal. (I was there last year (February?) and was about to head to the pool when I looked out the window and saw it was empty.)
But I think there may be one of the Signature pools open for use even when the main complex is closed.

Their website says it's closed until Spring2016, which isn't very specific.

I check into MGM on Feb 28, and had interest in this as well.

I called last week and the reservations agent said March 1st which seems odd considering it is a Tuesday. That could have been a guess based on past years. Considering the massive UFC fight at MGM on March 5th they might make an effort to have the pool open for the guests coming in for that.

Now I just hope the weather is good enough to enjoy. I was in town same week last year and it was 40s and 50s my entire stay.

Yes - a good idea to call and check, particularly if your stay at a specific resort/hotel is tied to the pool experience.

I'll say what I always do in these threads about pools - check to see what they mean by "open" for business. I know from experience that just because a pool is open does not mean it's got the services you'd expect. At the beginning and end of the season, "open" may mean you're on your own - or it could mean all the other pool amenities are operational too (towel service, drink service, snacks, etc.).

I'll also add that part of this depends on what you're looking for. If your question is whether the pool area will be open to guests and you can go for a swim if you want, that's one thing; if you're looking to lay out by the pool, have cocktail service, etc., that's another.

I spoke with MGM VIP services the other day and they said they will be open by the time I arrive at the end of March. They mentioned that they always try to have them open by spring break.

I know the last two years the MGM pool was open on NASCAR weekend in March (usually the first weekend of March).

    reply from excalibur

My name is Leon with the Excalibur Concierge team. I will be more than happy to answer that question for you. The 1st of march is when the pool is expected to reopen again.

thanks to OP - I hadn't given this a thought. The Linq pool won't be open for my Feb. 21 trip. It was in the 70s this week 2 years ago! I will have to go to Harrah's or Paris til I change to Encore.

Thank you for contacting The LINQ Hotel and Casino! I would be happy to assist you with your pool inquiry. Our pool season is normally from March to December, but the actual opening date will depend on our weather. They close the entire pool and do not allow guest to walk around that area. If you have any further questions please let me know.

Wow, didn't give the pool much of thought for my upcoming trip as the last week in February is usually still pretty cold in Vegas.

I should update since I was whining  - I re-emailed Linq to ask again about their pool opening since the forecast really warmed up, and below is response. I know this thread was a question about MGM pools, but wanted to say it's worth checking directly with hotel (and don't rely on reservationist, I got wrong info the first time).

Wishing those with upcoming trips lots of sun!

    Hello Sara,

Thank you for contacting us back! The official open date is scheduled for February 19th (subject to weather). If you have any further questions please let me know.

    Have a great day!
    Isaac

I asked about the midweek opening last year around this time and was told that the midweek opening lets them have somewhat of a 'Dry run" to get staff acclimated to their rolls during a slow few days before the weekend rush.
