Good to hear there's a commitment from management to improve the Tropicana. It's got good, basic infrastructure and a decent location. There's no reason it should not do better after the current construction projects are completed.

The M is a Penn company and they will be migrating the rewards program over to the Trop. (Marquee Rewards)

For locals, they have, by far, the most generous and high-quality give-a-way items. I'm looking forward to another option in town. Only rant is that don't give very many discounts on hotel room nights, but all-in-all, this is great news.

I am hoping that they set Trop up in a way that it is the same rewards program as M so that you can use your points at both.

Ideally you should be able to use your comps freely everywhere they own a property. But last I checked (april of last year), I had to convert my comps into a voucher at M. It worked, but it was annoying. :(

In Chicago, you don't have to do that. That's what I am hoping for between M and Trop.

    Hollywood Aurora and Hollywood Joliet.

The closest Hollywood Casino to me has the tightest slots any casino in Ohio, Pa. and WV. My win loss statement for 2015 almost provoked a heart attack. Yes, Penn National gives away free coffee mugs, chinese wind up wrist watches, turkey roasting pans. The giveaways are comical, 1500 people standing in lines for two hours instead of playing slots. Penn National also refuses to put video poker machines in their casinos.

I agree. PN doesn't like competition that's why I'm surprised they bought the Tropicana I live 14 miles from the PA casino and rarely receive offers from them in spite of weekly play. Also, about six months ago they no longer offer a 24/7 craps table, usually open one at 10AM. Weekdays they will not open a second table until late evening. I've been there with people two deep so they do what any good business would do - raise the minimums until the crowd disappears. Why open a second table? The new ACG lists their slot payouts as the lowest in PA.

I often drive the extra 90 miles to play at Mohegan Sun at Pocono downs for the better customer experience.

They offer VP at Hollywood Columbus and Hollywood Toledo. You may be referring to their Hollywood Gaming facilities, such as in Dayton and Mahoning Valley, which have 88%-90% payout each month. Other racinos like Eldorado Scioto Downs and Miami Valley Gaming are around 91.2%

I wouldn't trust a Vegas property owned by a Pennsylvania gaming company. I think we can all agree that Pennsylvania gaming is the worst gaming in the United States (except for maybe Cherokee, NC). Pennsylvania casinos are pathetic operations that look like Walmarts with table games and slot machines. And the odds on everything are so terrible that you may as well just set your money on fire. I think I'll pass on the Tropicana.

At least PA has a law requiring casinos to pay 3:2 on blackjack.

I have been to Hollywood in Bay St Louis, MS and in Tunica, MS and I think the casinos were pretty nice, for local casinos.
