Received an invite to buy-in for $2500 to the Wynn 800000$ tournament in February. Has anyone ever entered this one in the past? Noticed that the structure pays out up to 250th place in freecredit and up to 45th place in cash. Wondering if it's worth entering or if too many people enter.
What is the worst place required to breakeven? Does the buy-in include anything other than entry, like a suite for the stay? I don't usually pay for slot tournament entey unless it includes room and other credits like FP or resort credit
The offer I got for that $2500 buyin was 3 nights in a resort room.. I remember 250th was $500 in freeplay.. Not sure what the break even point was in freeplay, but I'm sure it wasn't that good
So clearly tough to break even however if you look at it from an EV perspective. Looks like 625k in cash entries (250*2.5k) which is the equivalent of the cash payout portion the free play is all added to the prize pool. It is actually a pretty hefty overlay when you include that and your expected value if it is just a random event would be 1.29. Not saying I'm signing up but if the number holds to the minimum at 250 then it's a pretty sweet deal. As the prize pool grows it dilutes out the added money in free play.
my invite says 'three complimentary rooms including food and beverage'. Doesn't say what type of room. Given the cost of flights, I'd only do one of these if it fitted in with a planned trip.
So that's like a free entry tourney with a payout of 175k. I don't bother for anything less than 500k to 1M.
