On this site, it seems like comp averages are across the board when it comes to what people spend vs. What pre-trip comp promos they actually get.

I'm really curious to see what an average everyday player spends (daily gambling budget/average daily gambling spend, not coin in, coin out), average daily hours of play, and what comps you've come to see as "normal", and what hotel you get these offers from most.

E.g. "my daily budget is x dollars, and I usually get promos for x amount of free nights at xyz hotel."

Not sure if anyone is open to sharing, but I am super curious now, as I've seen such a confusing spread of spend-to-comp metrics that I no longer have any barometer for what is standard!

I'm a pretty low roller, usually give myself around $300 per day to gamble. I only play blackjack and craps, usually betting between $5 and $25 (depending on how the session is going). In years past, that's gotten me up to three free nights at MGM's "lower" properties (Excalibur, Luxor, NYNY). That seems to have dried up, though, as of now my MLife offers are just lowered rates.

We are extremely low rollers compared to most on this site.
We each have a $100.00 per day budget. Sometimes that $100.00 lasts 10 minutes, sometimes 3 or 4 days.

The Mirage gives us 2 anytime nights free every quarter with $50.00 in free play. I'm not sure why they do that but we take them up on it once every year.

We also got a flyer from Aria this past summer for 2 free anytime nights. That one really baffles me because we might have gambled $50.00 each there at the most. Too bad we couldn't make it out to Vegas to use that one.

Coin in is used way more than avg daily spend. That is what the casino/computer looks at.

You can't use the words "budget" and "spend" in relation to gambling, people will define them differently.

Coin in, average bet/time (for tables), theo loss, and actual loss are the numbers that matter. It boils down to ADT. If someone can't tell you (or at least estimate) what their ADT is, then their info is not going to help you.

One person's daily coin in may be $5,000 with a theo of $400 and another's is $5,000 with a theo of $750.

And two people can play the same machine, one for $5,000 coin in a day and the other for $6,000 a day and they both get the same offers because the difference in their theo doesn't put them in separate comp brackets.

Daily budget can vary from $100-$300. I plan by days activities so has been up to $500 before. Trip budget has never exceeded 2k, and that has been broken out daily.

$25 BJ (hour a day at most), 1-3 NL hold 'em (sometimes several hours), and then low rolling cheap gambling days at properties where I'm not even trying to get comped. Trip spend is a bit higher as I'll see some shows and eat some steakhouse dinners, but I am not property loyal for these (in fact they have hardly ever come at my home hotel).

What I get for that level (general) is weeknights, and off-season weekends COMP in the availability calendar at CET, able to book up to 5 consecutive nights. I am Gold (lowest) card level, so I still have to pay the resort fee. Other than that I get whatever I earn in reward credits only.

My local (Caesars Windsor) comps me weeknight rooms, and occasional weekends, and if I am away for months they start sending me offers for shows or buffets, and there is usually something like a $10 direct bet as well.

Agree with this totally. ADT is what matters.

I'm not sure you're asking the right question for what you want to know, as others have eluded, but I'll answer your question, because I can see why you're curious. I'm just not sure you'll get the most appropriate responses.

We typically go to Vegas for 7-8 nights several times a year. Shortest trip we'll do is 4 nights b/c of our flight, and 8 is pretty tops. Regardless of how long we're there, we bring around between 5 and 10k in up front cash for gambling. We don't apportion it by days, we just tap into it as needed. We have access to additional funds if needed, but try not to do so. We are in vegas to gamble, and we do that probably 8-10 hours a day. We'll get up and go to the Casino in the morning, have breakfast and gamble. I'll place some sports bets. My wife plays like a low roller (she is risk averse), so plays generally penny slots at 2-3x get, with some more aggressive sessions mixed in. I play craps at $10-$25 range, and $.50/$1 video poker. I also play a lot of sports bets during football and basketball season (don't get credit for this except at CET). I'll play slots with my wife from time to time as well. So we're not high rollers, but proud mid rollers. 50-90% of our play is given to V/P on our trips (wide range, but we're pretty spontaneous), with frequent walks down to O'Sheas/LINQ area thrown in.

For our play, we get as many nights as we want comped on a trip (normally we're offered 4, but have asked (and gotten) as many as 7 before), with a moderate amount of free play + tournament entries or tickets. My wife loves the slot tournaments. So for example on our coming trip, we're staying for 5 nights, she's playing in the slot tourney, we're getting a small amount of free play. We would get more if we dedicated more play at CET. For the small amount we give CET our offers there aren't much worse than at V/P - generally 3-4 nights and tournament entries and small amount of free play. We don't have a host at CET like at V/P though.

Like I said, I'm not sure how much this helps you out, but it gives you an idea.

No such thing as an average every day player. My average daily budget is less than a lot player's average bet.

I play anything from pennies to dollar slots but I don't play pennies for long. I will also hit the $5 machines for $20-40 a day on the way back to the room at night if I have it. I plan on $100 a day total for gambling. I may dip into that if I'm having a bad day but the most I think I've ever played in one day was $250. The first 2 days we are in town we sight see and gamble throughout the day and stay up most of the night. The other 3 days we are at a trade show so we stay up at night for fun. I play craps or roulette for a little bit each trip. Usually don't last more than 30 mins at craps unless I'm winning.

Last year we got 5 nights comped at Bally's. This year we are staying 2 nights at Orleans (comp +$25 food) and 3 nights at Harrah's (comp). I could have booked Harrah's for 5 nights but we always stay at least one night at Orleans because I usually win there. I also got an offer for 2 free nights at Gold Coast but staying on the strip is more convenient the last 3 days.

I have no idea how to figure out what the coin in is. My friend that goes with me plays pennies all the time and my offers were better than hers again this year. I know she spends a lot more money than I do but she's never told me how much. I'm sure it's at least double. I was honestly shocked that she didn't have better offers.

    First 2 days - approximately 16 hours (8 hrs a day)
Last 3 days - approximately (36 hours-12 hrs a day) ...that sounds really bad, doesn't it? :evillaugh There's a reason we only go once a year! I would go more often but the hubby doesn't think it's necessary.

I'm a low roller by vegas standards and compared to most on this board, but if you're not looking at ADT (which is what casinos use for comps), then I bring about $300-400 per day for slots. Technically, I could blow it all in 5 minutes but I pace myself and play lower limit slots for about 4 hours a day or longer if I'm winning a little.

I'm loyal to MGM properties and get minimum 3 nights comped at their nicer properties plus food/bev and freeplay and limo sometimes. I play very little at CET and still get comped rooms everywhere except Caesars and Cromwell.

Stay where you play. That's the best way to do Vegas IMO.

You played for 8 hrs on a slot machine with $100??? Holy F, I must be the most unlucky person, that would last me 15 minutes

    LOL
Maybe that's betting 1 penny a spin really slowly.

Seriously, I do! And no, pennies tick me off because I have to bet $2-$4 a spin to win anything decent. I'd rather play dollars than listen to those machines take an hour to pay me $50! I walk around quite a bit (usually don't ever put more than $10-20 in one machine) but I've only come home a loser once in about 18 years. Just lucky to win enough small $50-$100 jackpots to keep me going all day. Last year I was down to my last $75. Bet it all on black.. won, let it ride and won again. Walked away with over $200 in a few minutes and back to the slots. :) First and ONLY time I bet $75 at once and my heart was racing the whole time that darn ball was spinning!

We'll usually go one weekend a month and take $1000...but I'm going to change that in 2016, to once every 2 months and take $2000.
Currently, we usually do $500 per day set aside for gambling, playing $1 single-line video poker, to earn 1000TC (at least) or 2500TC at CET Props.
This keeps the diamond card flowing and hosts happy.

I must be considered a "no" roller. I mostly play craps a few hours a day at most. Red chip player (unless I'm on a decent table), I usually have a $200 to $300 a day budget. I'm lucky to get a comped meal for my troubles so I don't play for comps and don't worry about them.

I was lucky this past September, I was rolling on a hot table so the box man and pit boss were generous in rating me so I started to get some 3 or 4 free night offers from the Boyd properties. Hopefully the offers will continue since I want to go to vegas in march, would be great to get a comped room but I'm not holding my breath on it.

That's impressive. My daily budget is also $300-$400, but I rarely play slots (I play the roulette & craps machines [with my card] along with pai gow & $10-$15 blackjack) and consequently only get discounted rates from MGM properties.

table players and VP players are treated differently than slot players. Slots have the highest house advantage so they make the most money off us. they also have designated hosts for slots that are different than table hosts.

Linked cards is a bonus. You can share your offers so if I play less and my mom plays more, or vice versa, we don't lose our comps because one of us always has an offer. Play is evaluated separately, but together we share our perks.

if I used my daily spend on tables, I wouldn't get those offers. I've heard CET is far more generous with their room comps than MGM, but MGM has always treated us well and their hotels are much nicer.

For the OP, I guess this has already been said, but a daily budget has nothing to do with comps, even if a player spends their daily budget every day. As stated, its all about ADT. Personally, I have no gambling budget. That doesn't mean my resources are unlimited and I get every conceivable comp. It just means I know how much I usually play and if I lose, I know I have the money to pay my gambling debts. I also know how much I usually spend on non-gambling activities and, again, I know I won't spend more than I can afford (and if I am having a blow out winning trip, I might spend a little more). None of that has any relation to the comps I receive. So if you're trying to analyze what kind of offers are available at different levels of play, I would encourage you to get people to share their ADT, not their budget.

Soo.. what is considered the cheapest way to generate a high ADT.

Lets say I have $500 to spend a day. How I would use that to generate the highest ADT (on average.. yes I know if you win keep winning your ADT will be higher)
is it better to run 500 thru slots or on black jack or Video poker (assuming you loose it all every time)
    Slots might take 2 hours
Blackjack might take 4 or 5 hours
Video poker might take 6 hours

I just assumed on average the math should work out to be the same ADT. just some games give you longer play vs big hits?
