It seems that the 2016 JAMZ Nationals Cheers will be at the Orleans when I will be there. Have any of you experienced this in the past and if so, will it be full of kids running around the casino day and night ? This one has me worried.

I guess it may depend on your tolerance level. We have been there when there was a kids basketball tournament. You will meet up with them in the buffet, going to and from their events, in the elevators and the halls leading to your room. It was a little annoying at times, but we just found some machines out of the way and forgot they were there. Come to think of it, we may have been there for that very event a few years ago.

Wow, I'll be exiting that place before disaster strikes.
I stayed there last year during part of some dance/cheer competition.
During the day there were kids jumping back and forth across the hallways to/from their rooms. Loud at times.
By 9pm each night, they were pretty much quiet in their rooms. (Yes, in my room at 9pm - I kinda work nights so 10pm is late for me, but I'm always up by 3 or 4 am each day)
Never had a problem with noise in my room from above me, just the occasional kid running down the hallway.

No problem with them in the casino. They stayed pretty much on the main walkways to/from the buffet or the food court.

One day I was on a long losing streak and very tired, wanted to get a nap in my room. Nope, I guess all the adults (or most of them) were downstairs in the casino or the arena, and they left the kids unsupervised. That's when they were running up and down the halls, bouncing back and forth across the rooms, and just being kids and having fun. That's just my luck that day. No nap for me, but a shower and some afternoon coffee perked me right up and back down to the casino I went. Also turned my luck around and had a fun day eventually.

As mentioned, it depends on your tolerance level. If you stay outta your room and don't need an afternoon nap, you'll be fine!

im thinking now of switching my stay at the Rio with my stay at the Orleans. That would work better for us. I have 4 kids at home, LV is my escape.

And paperposter, keep your day job. I haven't stayed at the Orleans, but I have been there many times. Thanks for the useless info though.

My wife and I have been there during JAMZ and yes there are a lot of kids there in the elevators and walking through the casino. I wasn't that distracted while playing but the biggest encounter with the kids is getting to and from your room. Not a horrible time to be there but...if I had other options I would think about going there another time or stay somewhere else.

    Hey Now!
When we were there in Sept. the Rasslers were there. It was pretty bad. The security guards told us that the only time it's worse is during the Jamz thingy.
Made sure we scheduled between them.
    All the gory details HERE.

Yes Flysrb it is because of your TR that I rebooked with my host. I have been following you forever. I too am a AC fan and have been going to the Taj for as far back as I remember, thank you. I was hoping to see you at the Orleans but we will just miss each other,

I was also there in September when the wrestlers were there. Other than huge groups getting onto the elevators it wasn't too bad. They had a separate entrance to the buffet for anyone associated with wrestling and so the buffet line wasn't bad.

There may have been an added scent of sweaty guys in the casino but it wasn't worse than the cig smoke :)

I've been there during JAMZ and during some AAU-type basketball events. The sponsors/chaperones usually sit on those kids pretty tight and other than walking through the casino, you don't really notice them downstairs. The biggest inconvenience is probably checkin/checkout. Lines are a little longer than normal. I certainly wouldn't go to a more expensive place or a place you don't like as much just to avoid them.

The answer is yes to your original question...there will be kids all over the place...usually on their own with their parents off doing adult stuff.

You could opt into the Gold Coast or, you might even check out the Palms. We just stayed there and had a very good experience and you are in the "golden walkable triangle" with the GC and Rio.

Should have also mentioned that I was at The Orleans at Thanksgiving and the old Mexican restaurant and that entire area was boarded over as they are remodeling. I was there today and it was the same way.
