Can't speak for the Rio but next door at Gold Coast always can find $5 2 or 6 deck. 3/2 double after split, double any first 2.

They do hit soft-17, but incorrect on DAS - Gold Coast allows it.

As for Rio, the last time I was in there (a while back, admittedly), everything on the main floor was 6:5... so,"unplayable" in my view.

Just re-read his post, & I think you're right... paper was referring to Rio first, then to Gold Coast... it was the "DD sux" reference that made me think he was referring to the Gold Coast.

As for keeping up your CET points? I would suggest playing UTH... I love the game & Rio has it at $5... (which is really $15+/hand - $20+ if you play the Trips bet).
$5 ante, $5 blind & $5 min. play is the least can bet if you stay in.

Well, that's a change for the better... a couple of years ago, (January 2014 I think) I looked & only found 6:5... now, if those were (are) $50+ tables, I would have walked right past them, so that's certainly possible.

I thought I've gone into Gold Coast at 7AM weekdays and found $25 minimum at the Blackjack tables, which I thought was ridiculous. I don't recall ever seeing a $5 table open at Gold Coast unless I just overlooked it..

In my experience there are always $5 tables, couple 2 deck and a couple 6. I play mostly early morning now and I don't remember ever seeing $25 being the lowest. I've had to wait to get on a double deck a couple times. Haven't been now since May but I don't believe it's changed. The other place I like to play at is South Point and at times I've seen $10 and up there at busy times. I've asked and they have lowered min to $5 for me in the morning.

    If you say so...
I will definitely go back...if they actually have playable blackjack, I can get back on CET's radar & start getting offers again!

GeorgeJ... Gold Coast is mostly $5 and $10 blackjack... I think they may have two $25 tables, but most are $5 & $10... two-deck pitch, 3:2 H17, DAS. When the pit on the south end of the casino is open, I think they have over ten $5 and $10 3:2 DD pitch tables open.
