Riders - Holiday Break and DSTP Quest - MGM/Skyloft - 12/16-18

Well .... I went back and forth on if I should do this semi-live TR. So far, all my live TR have ended up losers but I have won on those that I didn't report on until after ... I know it really doesn't matter, so I am going to try to do another live report and see how it goes ... I even tested the theory a little tonight and found it didn't matter (I'll explain later).

Anyway, this was a last minute trip. I had to be in Dallas today and tomorrow and decided that Vegas was close enough to head that way instead of home. This will be a quick trip. Flying in tomorrow night and back out Friday noon.

I don't have a lot planned but will note what I have.

Wed night - L'ATELIER with my Host and her husband (always good stories from both, he was a pit boss in the mansion and now at Encore).
Thursday - absolutely nothing planned and open to anything.
- Things I would like do
--- 1. Strip crawl - hit a few casinos
--- 2. Play a little at Cosmo and try a Verbana (sp?)
--- 3. Good dinner Thursday night
--- 4. Meet any VMB that are in town and want to meet another VMB stranger.
--- 5. Many many more DSTP hand-pays


I told my host to surprise me on the room and I get the feeling that it will be a Loft but I could be wrong, however staying positive, I am going to leave it in the title and hope for the best.

I know I had a lot more to start this off but for the life of me I can't think of it ... so I will fill it in as I go.

While not Vegas yet ... did enjoy Twin Peaks in Dallas in honor of PPhold.

Kate was great.

 

I noted that I tested the theory of the curse of the Live Trip Report, so here is a little detail.

Since I was close to Winstar and the itch couldn't wait until tomorrow, I headed that way earlier tonight. I figured I would play and if I hit big again, I would skip the live TR .. well ... just the opposite happened. I was just planning to play 500-1000 and get out .. .the first 500 went quick .. so did the next .. then I started chasing and couldn't hit anything and was full on chase mode. ended up down the $1700 I had on me ... and was going for the ATM, when I realized that I didn't have my wallet. I first thought I lost it at Winstar but after some clearer thinking, I realized I left it at the hotel in TX. Good thing I didn't hit anything, I had no ID on me at all. I took that as a good sign to leave. it was a terrible start but I figure I just all the crappy hands out of the way ...

Down -$1700 (and not even in Vegas yet).

not sure about the stare but I just noticed that ... I think I just caught her when she was looking at her manager, who was pissing her off. she was great.

now that is a thought ... was drinking with Katelynn the other bartender but couldn't get a picture... she would have been fun in Vegas.

It is a trick...I've tried it a few time myself with some friends for fun. If you are by yourself, it's rough. BUT, with fellow degens, they can distract while you snap away. Just be sure you turn off the camera sounds on you phone. OOOOORRRR.....just go with a full fledge picture moment. Twin Peak girls are whores for pictures.They just open up one near me.

Unfortunately MGM only has one stand alone DSTP machine. Next to one of my other favorite games, Quick Quads! These two games are right along the main aisle though, so it's a prime viewing area to watch all the club goers walking through the casino. It's just a bit past Whiskey Down near the Lobby Bar on that side if you're walking toward the hotel lobby.

I don't recall paytables for quarters. Nickels were 6/5 Bonus (97.36%) and 7/5 DDB (96.2%). Meh. Also MGM supposedly has some All Star IIs somewhere, but I've never noticed them. Any All Star II unit will have DSTP.

But MLife's best paytables are definitely at Aria. Particularly BeeeJay Memorial Row 802. (IMG from Superpocky's awesome report!)


Starting at quarters, you should be able to find 9/5 DDB (98.37%), 7/5 Bonus (98.51%), and of course 8/6 Boner Deluxe (98.99%). Unfortunately, this unit is quite popular, along with its companion in row 804 (both of these are near the MLife Desk). Once again, Double STP is also available on all star II machines. And last trip I saw a giant unit that offered these same paytables from nickels to quarters that was behind the poker room near the entrance leading to Monte Carlo Tram.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling the DSTP was going to be slim at MGM but I can camp out there if I am winning. I do plan to play at Aria a little. I have terrible luck on tables there but seem to have good luck on the machines. As I find them, I will post.

 

Finished in Dallas ... now just trying to get out of here sooner than planned.

I haven't been to MGM since January, but I know MB has a ton of STP and All Star machines (don't remember if they were All Star II or not). I have not had much luck with STP or DSTP lately, so I've been mostly playing regular DDB and SDDB.

I hope you hit a bunch of premiums and royals...it will get me to switch back to STP and DSTP!

I sure want to but looks like I may be stuck with my original plan. I hit vegas at about 8:30pm .... oh well ... a few hours in the sky club and i will be ready.
I seem to suck at STP but have good luck at DSTP. Will try to stick with that but if it goes south, plan o seeing me try all the other vp variations. .. ultimate X, quick quads and maybe some spin.
